Maybe this is the right approach, sit still in free agency, save money for other upcoming big contracts! I mean all these teams out here spending money, it doesn't mean they'll win the Superbowl. We have to remember that injuries are real, all it takes is one small one that could linger all season long to a top player.

I'm not ever saying I want anyone injured, but it happens. Of course we want our team to improve, I guess we just have to be hopeful, hit well on the draft, then add free agents as we see fit. Who knows, this approach of being cheap could workout, why not hop on board???? Give your thoughts

Jerry Jones approves this message.

Give your thoughts

I think Dallas has struggled with depth. It wouldn't hurt to acquire talented ready to start players to prepare for injuries to come during the season. FA would be a good place to find these players in position of need.

I bet the cowboys make at least one signing this offseason that gets people excited.

I bet it’s after the draft and a player that gets passed over and has to settle for a 1 year deal. Seems the cowboys are in on most free agents but the discussions end once guys like miller,Wagner, etc have multi year deals.

really feels like their priority is 2023, and success in 2022 is gravy.

Maybe on the 27th time we try to do things the wrong way, a miracle happens. I guess that’s the plan.
took philly 60 years to win ONE
took KC 50 years to get back to another
took cinci 31 years to get back to one and not sure but wasnt it their 1st and only one sb win?

thats a few examples of why fans need to be patient.

ridiculous every moment this place takes to say that tired narrative yet drool over the other teams who've had far longer droughts and FAR less titles..Jerry has 3 in his 31 year ownership so he got some credit. built up with fans who dont overreact knowing you just have to support your team until they get another.

https://champsorchumps.us/drought/longest-nfl-championship-drought#tab-drought-historic

those are just droughts current and all time we aren't on one list and far down another..that not take into account our Team history has 5 sb titles and what 8 appearances?

I go into every season thinking the same thing. And I will not stop.
I look forward to each new season. And do not whine constantly about the past.

If one vents that way, fine. But why do they do it 50 times a day in every thread. Look for the positives, it will make you feel better.
It really makes this place a drag, and a laughing stock in the posting world.

What is that saying, do something for 10 days to break the habit. Well here is a challenge find something to post positive for 10 days, and see how much better you feel.
Can anyone do it?

McCarthy 3rd season, last season 12-5 and yes I expect them to improve as a team. Will that result in 12-5? I would not excepted it I think 11-6 but I do expect them to advance in post season. I'm not going to sit here in worry about 27 years ago, I look more at the staff that is in place and how they can build off of what they did in 2021. I really do not see the use of looking back at Chan Gailey days or Dave Campo days. My concern is Mike McCarthy and his staff of coaches and how they fare.

Hey I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't think that early last season had a different feel to it.

When they beat New England, then Minnesota with Rush.....it felt like they became full of themselves (as Dallas teams so famously do) and were just trying to tread water until the playoffs.

Meanwhile probably the only chance this team has is to take advantage of a weak division and grab a one seed.

Hopefully they won't be as unprepared as we were the last two times that happened.

You people DO realize that the only reason MM was hired was because Jerry thought he had some sort of magic words to tell the team because he had won a SB once before?

I mean really, THAT was the reason.

its a cycle. we have a decent off season, make a big splash, followed by several ho hum off seasons and purging contracts....and results have been the same regardless. I expect this season to be similar to the pattern developed over the past 26 years. probably come in 2nd in the division. miss the playoffs. and Jones trying to make a big splash signing next off season to seel hope to fans. this off season they are staying relatively quiet. its a strategy on their part. if things work out, they will say we had all the confidence in our players and our approach. if it doesn't, then they will sign a big name FA of sort and say we are making correction. I have seen this song and dance at least 5 times

Let one of our top guys go out, trust me the team is NOT the same!!! #11 goes down, it's like nobody else knows how to get to the passer

Exactly how I feel, remember there's some June 1st cuts coming, and there will be some guys still out there in free agency
