wasn't he franchised?

Not yet, but that is the expectation.

If he is allowed to enter free agency, he would be a big time addition for any team needing a cb. Don't expect it to happen though.

I can only WISH we get a chance at this guy.

I promise to learn to pronounce his name if we sign him.

#1: They'll tag him. It's already been reportedly as pretty much a forgone conclusion if they aren't able to resign him long term prior to the deadline for having to tag him.

#2: If by some miracle they let him walk he's going to command HUGE money, meaning we're not likely to even take a sniff of him. Much like we wont look at Trufant or Samuel cause they're going to command HUGE money.

#3: He's a very fine corner. A great addition to whatever team (most likely the Raiders) ends up with him.

Quoted for truth.

There's no way we would be able to sign any of the corners on the market beyond a Randall Gay or Drayton Florence type. There's too many teams out there with more cap room who badly need corners.

I heard that the Raiders had cap issues and have a top five pick that they will have to pay. Can they pay to keep this guy?

I doubt we could get him - he sure would be an excellent addition though.

We have to pay T-New in the near future as well.

I hope we get a young stud CB with one of our two first round picks and pick up a second tier veteran corner in FA - but not Drayton Florence - I live in San Diego and he is the Charger version of Reeves. Sorry if this offends anyone but I wouldn't waste our time on him.

I'd have no problems giving up our 2 1st rounders for this guy (signing a franchised player)...however, the cap hit would be crazy.

You might pronounce it but if you were to type it; it would be one of your longest posts.:D

I think Dallas days of signing top name FA's (besides their own) are dwindling fast unless you want to start letting some of our own players walk.

This offseason we need to sign...
  1. Flozell (could let him walk but you would be taking a big risk)
  2. Hamlin (versus very unproven Watkins?)
  3. Barber
  4. Canty
Next up then becomes Newman and I believe Columbo is up again as well.

But without getting into a bunch of details I think things will be tighter cap wise than folks are realizing unless you'd like to manage like the Skins. Myself, I'd rather maintain some flexibility.
