I think so too. Probably hurt him Evans is gone too so there’s not really older players to try and take advantage of a small window.

Keep in mind, Bowles had to fight for another year as head coach. Pretty sure he has to at least make the playoffs to save his job. So this could be one reason why they are only offering Mayfield 2 years.

I actually got a lot of respect for Mayfield. I like the way he's dug out a very solid career. He had MVP-caliber type season a couple years ago.
