Bland and pretty tasteless.

And how does Kizer suddenly go from QB1 to QB4?

How on earth do rankings change that much this late in the game? It's insane. I really hate the "I'll make changes for web clicks" mentality to a lot of draftniks.

Maybe he finally got around to watching film. Or he is simply flopping prospects around because someone said they "liked the kid".

Either way, it makes you wish he did take the Commanders GM job.

It is interesting since the only big data point since his last rankings was Kizer's Pro-Day which he apparently faired well in.

And who knows what Caleb Brantley did to go from DT2 to out of the top 5. His workout was not bad, but the last rankings were done after the Combine when he admitted to taking plays off late in games.

So Cam Robinson suddenly can play tackle? Good to know.
Apparently, he went from "can't play" to "best of the bunch" without doing a thing.

Dead give away he is a barometer and is not evaluating much of anything tangible.

I guess all of the well known ones do, but he is fairly obvious.

I guess he doesn't realize how much drastic changes like these lower his credibility.

Once again, Mayock is unable to just list 5 people in order. If he were a basketball coach, he'd invariably have 6 or 7 guys on the floor at all times. You had one job, Mike, and you couldn't follow the simple instructions.

If it were exclusive to Mayock, it would be one thing. All of these guys do it - Kiper, McShay, the whole lot of them.

It's just stupid as hell. Unless you have an issue like Sidney Jones or a Shane Ray back in 2015, there's literally no reason for rankings to change.....

.....unless you dont know how to evaluate them.

I agree, most of the big names in the industry all do it the same way. Publish floating rankings that rarely establish a position and a strong take that could expose them to the potential of being wrong.

The longer Mayock does it though, it seems he puts even less work into it. Change around enough until right before the draft and then use some sort of contact to firm up and it makes them look smarter. If he was truly an analyst, he would have an opinion formed by at least the Combine and wouldn't change it a whole lot. He is the opposite.

When is the last time he gave out a name of some sleeper the average draft follower is actually surprised with?

He is a lot of talk, this kid this, this kid that. I have yet to ever hear him have a strong take that implies he has put much thought into it.

It is a main reason I pay much more attention to the amateur and semipros on Twitter than I do the network "experts".

All these guys are just weather balloons to show which way the wind is blowing. They are judged by how close they come to the actual draft results, not how these guys do on the field in the NFL. Consequently, conversations with various guys around the league changes things as we get closer to the draft. It is what it is.

I think Harris is better than Mckinley after watching some film. Harris has better footwork and more bend.

Because Mayock is a homer. He used to call Notre Dame games on NBC. I don't pay Mayock's rankings or mocks any attention. I'm in NC and have been watching Watson at Clemson his whole career. He's by far the best QB in this draft. I'm a Carolina Tar Heels fan, and Trubisky couldn't beat out Marquise Williams the past two years. He's not bad, but I'd take a proven winner and a QB with outstanding leadership skills any day over the rest of these guys.

I pay not attention to this late shifting. It's why I laugh at stories where the Browns would somehow take Trubisky #1.

For the top prospects, it is fruitless to bother. Now, if you see a lot of visits and attention paid to some of the lesser known players, that could be a late sign worth paying attention to.

There are a couple of players that will shock people how high they go.

I would keep an eye on DT Grover Stewart (Albany St.) WR DeAngelo Yancey (Purdue) and LB Tanner Vallejo (Boise State) starting in the fourth round.

You don't think Teebor's pro day should have dropped him?

The evaluation process is ongoing and colleges just had their last pro days last week. For teams they are still having private workouts and meetings. Before all of that you had the post season games particularly the senior bowl and of course then the combine.

There is all manner of new information coming in to evaluate. Then of course you should check your work given the amount of time these people have. Mistakes and omissions are made and can be corrected particularly with the new data available. Guys that did well after the season need to be re-scrutinized with the new information in mind.

You sound like Broaddus with his "they could have the draft in February" comments.
