Mazi or Guyton, who are you ready to go to battle with?

Going into battle with Mazi or Guyton? Got a white flag in that satchel that I can wave?

At this very moment, I’d have to go Mazi cuz I know what I have there. Keeping with the war theme, Guyton has the potential to get our colonel killed.

Guyton’s ceiling is higher but I need to see it.

I have more faith in Guyton developing into a good player than Mazi at this point.

I think we have made a major mistake at DT again, especially if they just throw a mid round pick at a DT.
they made the mistake when they tried to make him something that he wasn't

Both are trash.

Problem with guyton is he cant be plugged in as guard. So you are stuck with him at tackle.

But Mazi already has proven he aint NFL material. Not even backup worthy. So i take my chances with Guyton as my backup swing tackle.
he sure as hell sucked us in with that "I don't like football I just like to HIT people line!"

Lemme see...
Mazi's got 2 years worth of very poor play.
Guyton's got a rookie year that is hoped to have been a year of growing pains, NFL learning curve or something like that.
If Guyton sucks this year he will be Mazi's equal.
If he shows huge 2nd year improvement then he may be worth keeping.
So as it stands exactly right now Guyton has the upper hand in future hope as a contributing player.

Worth keeping, I'm not sure they'll let him go like other teams may have, we like to keep guys around

Yeah,
admitting to early draft mistakes by moving on early from a player is not the Jones way.
They did it with Taco though so I guess there's always a chance.

It's probably not as bad of a question as many think it is. The only real difference is Mazi has struggled for two NFL seasons, Guyton has struggled for just one NFL season.

Guyton
23 years old (June birthday)
668 NFL snaps
1,092 college snaps

Mazi
23 years old (June birthday)
828 NFL snaps
1,227 college snaps

Overall I'm not very high on either player, but both should probably be viewed similarly in terms of development time. Mazi technically has more time in the league, but overall has seen the field just slightly more than Guyton has. Both drafted as high physical traits guys that needed development.

Gun to my head I would take Guyton, but I'd rather have a 3rd option ;)
Good info here... so both are still really young, and probably should have stayed in college for another year, but here we are. I liked the growth I saw from Mazi more than the falloff I saw from Guyton last year.

Accurate, well reasoned post.
Nice job.

not a close one to me

- Guyton is our blindside QB protector.

- Dak is the franchise

- Who has the biggest responsibility and value , guyton or mazi ?

With that said, they've struggled as first round picks, but we shouldn't write them off and continue to be patient.

With that said, which player would you pick to go to battle with??
There is a crystal clear answer. Guyton.

With that said, not sure why this is even a question.
