Mazi has one solo tackle in 3 games. Not exactly what I expected as a 1st round pick. I do think he has shown great potential though.

Some of these comments are hilarious, you spend a first round pick on a guy you expect production and you expect it soon. Maybe 10 years ago you developed guys, but now with the level of college ball and the way the NFL is, true first round picks contribute from the get go.

I tried to give Mazi the benefit of the doubt but he's literally been invisible out there. I almost felt he was injured or something because I can't recall seeing him AT ALL in the game. Did he even play?

If you're picking in the top 10 I agree with you completely. When you're picking in the mid 20s that changes a bit though.

Looking around at the picks that went right around the time Mazi was selected it's a mixed bag. Dalton Kincaid only has 72 yards through 3 games. Nolan Smith has just 12 snaps (Although me may have been dealing with an injury? not sure), Bryan Breesee really just played his first full game worth of snaps in week 3....he looks really good though. Felix Anudike Uzomah is getting limited snaps. Myles Murphy only has 32 snaps through 2 games.

The Mazi situation really isn't a massive red flag so far. You're able to get him on the field and he serves a purpose on the roster, he just has a limited skill set to this point. He has the traits and measurables as a top flight DT in this league, he just doesn't have the tape. If he did the guy would have been taking in the top half of the first round instead of the back half. A guy like Mazi I think you need to really break up the season into four mini seasons. How do the first four games look? How do the next four go? and so on. You should see improvement as the year goes on and you should see his snap count increase as his skill set increases. If by Thanksgiving we see are having the same conversations and he is still only getting 10ish snaps a game, then Ill be a little more worried about his ability.
