It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that he'll be tendered with 1st and 3rd round picks. At that point we've got all year to negotiate a long term deal IIRC.

Once we got eliminated from the playoffs I heard Schefter report that MB3 would have his contract done by the SuperBowl. But obviously that was wrong....
