MBIII has lost it

I might be the last one to jump off his bandwagon, but I don't know what MBIII is useful for anymore aside from a decoy, "oh crap they're running between the tackles for 2 yards" back. I'd much, much rather platoon Felix and Choice and let Barber get the scraps Choice is getting now. 11 carries for 33 yards today, but the most troubling thing for me this week was that Barber was given two carries inside the 5 and didn't pick up a single yard on either one. That used to be his money area, regardless of what was happening between the 20's, and he doesn't even have that anymore. He can't bang straight up, doesn't fall forward nearly as much and can't seem to pick his way through a crowd nearly as effectively.

I'd like to find a spot for him, because I love seeing him when he's revved up, but his usefulness on the screen is nullified by Felix's, his vision inside the tackles seems seriously diminished and he's taking snaps away from Choice, who I honestly think is the more well-rounded back right now, and he's languishing on the bench.

I'm also pissed because I was the idiot who started Marion on fantasy this week thinking he'd be able to bang in a TD or two. He doesn't seem capable anymore.

Im with you.

A blind man can see Tashard gives us a better chance at success.

I still think it is more the line than Barber. How many yds did Felix or Choice have behind this line. Put Barber behind a good ol and I think he would be fine.

The OL does him no favors.

But hey, he is great at getting those personal fouls called against him.

And put Choice and Jones behind the same line and they'll do better than Barber.

Ill take those anytime...GO COWBOYS:star:

I'm in agreement. I think we've been using him wrong for three years. And now I believe all the talk in his ear about "you have to preserve your body and run out of bounds" and all that has taken the heart out of him.

Marion Barber used to be the heart of our offense. No longer. I am officially off the band wagon today.

ME TOO!!!! weather or not that first one should have been called or not....Dallas has had plenty of bad calls in a single game, so I do not feel for the other team.

It's obvious and really annoying to watch Barber make basically nothing on his own. Choice has vision and is much more explosive than Barber.

Amazing how we get countless horrible calls aginst us all year and they get ONE bad call and it's like that's why we won and we need to keep addressing it. The refs also missed some Lions holding calls as Moose or Goose pointed out. The FIRST horsecollar was wrong, but it was a player being pulled back by an opponents hand that was in the spot where one would horsecollar. Because it was his hair it is not a horsecollar, but these plays happen very quickly and that was not reviewable so let's not make it like they called something absurd that was so off base.

choice played well when he came in the game. I think choice's mouth and quick temper is the reason why he doesnt play much. He looses his cool too fast sometime. But he does have better balance and visions and of course explosiveness than barber. The only thing saving barber is his contract. Sad but true:bang2:

I've been saying since he joined the Cowboys that he needs to lift his feet up when he runs. He has had more "shoestring" tackles against than any back I can remember.

The stream wasn't crystal clear but I thought I saw Choice glaring(dirty look) at Garrett a little while before Felix came off field for xrays.

Barber had 13 carries for 36 yds.

One carry was for 24 yds. The other 12 were for a total of 12 yds.

Overall, 2.8 yds a carry.

That pretty much says it all.

Not to mention he's become so one dimensional it's nuts. Honestly, if he walked on to a NFL TC today he wouldn't get a job.

I still don't see much holes opening up for our backs and they don't open up until we pass. It seems the more we pass the better we get at running the ball. Choice needs more carries. I think Barber has his role on this team as well. He punishes the defense. Or he did today anyway. I am on board with giving Choice more carries. I still don't get why he's in somewhat of a doghouse. The only thing I can think of was that fumble against the Deadskins which Felix did the same crap today.

BTW, I guess its going to go unnoticed but that Barber 20+ yard run was the game clincher. It destroyed the Lions. And Barber didn't have much to work with.
