MBIII should be starting

Didn't we have this discussion last week? and the week before? and the week before? Wait maybe we have some new arguments. Nope. Same ol stuff. :bang2:

...yet...here you are....

I agree with this thread, Barber makes a decision and hits the whole.....he is thick with muscle and strong.......loves that contact

Loved him at MINN, and love him here. He has increadible vision. Can't teach that. He is a natural, and you can tell Bill loves him.

The Hall of Fame sometime in the future coach disagrees with all the so called experts here.

But then since he is mostly responsible for the way JJ is running- by his OWN words several times in press conferences- then he should stick with him. Or tell him to change the way he is running.

I wonder how much of the coaches decision had to do with pass blocking.

Jones seems to be a natural passing situation back. I'd guess that Barber is the better blocker.

If you are starting Bledsoe behind a suspect OL, maybe you pick Barber for your 3rd down back because of his stronger blocking.

And now you don't want to switch up the RB roles at midseason because it is midseason (and despite the QB change).

That screen play we had against the Giants is a prime example of what Jones has been doing. They had two lineman 10 yards down the field in front of Jones and he only gains 11 yards. I think Barber takes that screen play to the house. Jones didn't set up the blocks, he simply rolled 100 mph between the blockers and was cut down by a diving Demps.

It doesn't matter who starts the game. They are both getting about the same amount of plays lately anyways.

I don't really care who starts as long as we get the same type of total production.

Exactly. Barber is not going to get 25 carries a game. Parcells like rotating the backs and he will continue to do so. As a whole both guys give Dallas a solid running attack.

i actually think what bill is doing is working fine. just before the playoffs is no time to be benching a guy you need for the payoffs. comparing td numbers is a little silly considering jones in not in there on the goal line.jones starts because bill wants mb3 fresh at the end of games.mb3 is the 3rd down, red zone and short ydg guy.the days of a rb on this team getting 30-35 touches is over.i think bill realizes if you play mb3 all the time he won't be as effective.mb3 is getting his carries and the td's to keep him happy, jones is the starter to keep him happy. change just to be changing is not real smart when things are working just fine

Exactly. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Jones is not doing well and is being outplayed by Barber because of the scheme. Why don't coaches scheme around their players strengths instead of making players play in their preferred scheme. The defense has talent and yet they have no sacks. Conservative scheme. Jones doesn't break any long runs because he has to take the sure 2 to 3 yards given. Conservative scheme. At least the passing game is no longer conservative. Barber being better has nothing to do with jones's ability. If Juluis was in the Rams or Broncos, he would being having a monster season.

this is an old busted thread ... it's not going to happen this year per parcells

It took his brother 5 years to step it up... lets not be the Cardinals with a Jones kid.

What difference does it make who starts?? They both play and we are winning. Thats all that matters right now.

We are also winning with Keith Davis at FS...
Give MBIII the ball.

He is getting the ball but he is not going to carry the entire load. Parcells is going to split the carries between his RB. Bill does not see either of our RB as guys capable of carrying the entire load thus he will continue to spilt carries between the 2.

So what? Thomas is about to lose his job to Cedric Benson.

He also held on to Bledsoe about 22 games too long. There were people calling for Romo then too.

I guess I'll just start saving everyone of your JuJo quotes so I can throw them back in your face after JuJo loses his starting job.

With his production and ability to read and hit the hole, he should be starting over JJ. I think it should be JJ coming in fresh and hitting the draw plays.

JJ has lost his ability to read the hole because the line played so poorly his first two seasons that he is shell shocked. He runs right into the hole the play is designed for and rarely makes a move. MBIII is doing the opposite and averaging a yard more.

While we're at it, Ratcliffe should be starting over Spears.

Hmmmm. Interesting.

(Note to moderators: shouldn't this be merged or sumptin?):)
