(1) matt mcbriar had a smoking preseason and is already leading the league in gross- and net-yard average. some of his punts have been absolutely jaw-dropping. what affect do you think he will have on the fortunes of the cowboys?

(2) suisham has been booming kicks into the deep part of the endzone. but he missed a very makeable 35-yard FG attempt. is it possible he can make Vandy expendable this season?

...and McBriar is doing his best to contribute. Unfortunately FGs are just as important if not more because they immediately impact the scoreboard.

Vandy, IMO, is only expendable if:

a. He cannot get the ball through the uprights on a consistent basis.

b. Suisham's is so much better that he gives the team the best chance to win on Sundays.

We don't definitively know the answer on either so I expect we will see some Vandy soon.

1. McBriar will have a huge impact. I believe he might even win games for us. Why? well because hes gonna be pinning teams deep in their territory. which in effect is gonna make it harder for them to score, this should help us win sum games.

2. Liking his KO's but for FGs i get nervous..

matt is excellent.........what a find.

i don't trust fg kickers................great news though..... because of our outstanding defense and unlimited weapons on offense..........................................

we won't have to count on kickers this year!!

LOL....

Just a couple of weeks ago, some were predicting that McBriar wouldn't even make the final 53.

Now he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

A poor punt here and there, and I'm sure people will be asking for the resigning of Fredrickson.

:laugh2: I remember the calls for Tyler

Mcbriar for MVP!

Ball control offense, stout defense, and a great punter. Good way to win the field position game.

In my experience punters are not as big headcases as place kickers, as long as they're not stabbing eachother. Don't know how that one works though.

This team is in big trouble if Suisham is the field goal kicker this year. His kickoffs are very good, but he has major problems with field goals 30+ out.If your going to be involved in alot of close games, you can't have a kicker like that.

at least Pat Watkins reminds you of Michael Downs right? :p:

Yeah, that is my only saving grace. As long as Watkins=Downs, I'm a happy man...........

I must have missed the calls for Fredrickson. Regardless, any such calls would have been ridiculous.

Anyone who's been paying attention knows we have a damned good punter. Among the elite when he's letting them fly. No worse than average when he's at his worst.

I must've missed that too. I never heard/read anyone saying Mcbriar doesn't make the roster. Who the hell is Fredrickson..........know what I mean?
