Now let me get this straight. We cut McCann at the end of TC. He was picked up by some other team, then cut about 10 days later. Then we resigned him to our PS & then only few weeks ago we made him active. I really think that w/o his 2 run backs we might have lost both games. He provided a necessary spark in both when they were needed. Thank God.

BTW: Maybe next debate will be between Dez & McCann on who is best to return punts. Ha.

If he can tighten things up to give up fewer plays while still making some I would be quite happy with him starting.

I say you put Mccann back there and use dez exclusively as a WR so he doesn't get hurt.

Had he not stumbled, he probably would have had a kick return touchdown as well.

notice our rookies, undrafted free agents and back QB's making plays to win games...

That's what happens when you make players compete for playing time rather than simply handing them jobs.

And this kid is just a rookie; of course he's got some real speed. Just imagine how good he could be with some real DB coaching.

I just hope he doesn't get Campoed.

McCann went to SMC, don't know if he is a grad., but he is one smart football player to know the rules. As coach Joe stated on the post game show, he picked up the punt return took it down the field knowing that even if he fumbled it would be the Cowboys ball at the 3. Now either coach Joe is right or McCann is one lucky player two weeks in a row. I for one will take smart players over luck game in game out.

At least for now. McCann might turn into too big of a star to risk returning punts.
:laugh2:

I love this guy. He has single-handedly turned the momentum in our favor in two games. And I wish he hadn't slipped on that one return.

Yah, arent you glad we cut McCann coming out of TC and kept Jason "I couldnt cover my grandmother" Williams.

McCann is absolutely electrifying on P/K returns! He has such great speed and quickness, and never seems to hesitate to find the hole and run through it!

There is no doubt he swung the momentum in our favor in each of the last two games at the most critical times. Without him, you could easily argue that both games would have been losses.

As someone else mentioned though, his coverage as a CB still has a lot of flaws. However, I am hopeful that he will continue to learn and improve his game to be a consistent playmaker for us on defense.
