Thinking about going from Aaron Rodgers to Dak is taking it's toll.

Poor man probably hasn't sleep since Kellen left.
indeed he has put his job on the line here. Dak needs a lot of maintenance and weapons to produce. while McCarthy will re-discover what a great QB Rodgers was.
Another note from that quote, it looks like McCarthy is having to study the OC job all over again, and is nervous how he will perform.

Kind of hard to improve on what Kellen Moore did with the talent given him.

This is a nonsense move to appease the window lickers.
Getting the turnovers down would be a huge improvement. It is actually what MM offenses were known for from KC onwards with quarterbacks like Grbac and Brooks before Rodgers. He averaged less than a pick a game and had multiple seasons with less than 10 overall for his squads.

MM was known from getting a lot out of marginal quarterbacks and then he won a Super Bowl with a talented one.

Dak started throwing into coverage last season which was new. He always had the throws high and/or behind that worsened when he hurt his leg but now he was trying to fit throws down the sideline when the safety is very on top.

Now MM is talking about simplifying the offense. He seems to know what he is doing.

So who’s going to help address the clock management issues? His workload as a HC should decrease and not increase… like the captain of a plane. Every captain needs a solid co-pilot
this is the problem when a HC is also play caller.
He will have all his focus on what play to call next, and therefore no time to focus on the game, the clock, etc.
He cant do both efficiently.

Mike finally actually getting involved. According to himself, he forgot how much energy you put in being an OC. Hope he can implement, design, scheme up better run plays cause they gonna need it.

There were times when I thought Moore would have an ingenious gameplan on a given week. What drove me crazy with him was his inability to get much carryover from those weeks. So often it was a brand new gameplan regardless of what worked, sometimes brilliantly, the week before. I always had the feeling we were starting from scratch with him. What resulted was a complete inability to hang your hat on anything and create an identity for the offense.

Actually he is probably sleeping much better.
Because of Moore leaving, not from Dak staying. That is an altogether different issue. Hope he has that figured out with the new plays and such.
Zeke is gone. We can actually have a real run game now without Jones pushing some over the hill 3rd and long machine.

The offense will be more explosive and consistent with your hero Zeke kicked to the curb.

New defense, new team, new strategy for the week. And we no longer have the problem of having to give Zeke carries. The new offense can actually feature Pollard or another back and what he does best instead of just filling in for Zeke.

The big problem for Moore was that he was forced to feature Zeke in the run game. That would throw a wrench into any offense.

I don’t know how you did this, but I did not post what you responded to.

I wanted Moore to go because 1) it puts it all on McCarthy (no fall guy); 2) it moves us on from any ties to the Garrett philosophy; 3) despite Moore's successes, the Garrett philosophy and Moore's version of it ultimately failed in the playoffs; 4) McCarthy's offense has proven playoff success.

Maybe the talent will cause McCarthy's offense to fail here, but I'd rather have that happen then keep banging our head against the same wall. Dallas had the second-best offense in the league (points) in Garrett's first season (2007) and in 2009. They were in the top five several other times. But ultimately, they failed, mostly because of the defense but also because Garrett's philosophy prevented the offense from being able to be elite IMO.

Change isn't necessarily good, but I prefer it to spinning our wheels. Of course, with the GM remaining the same, I'm not sure we can do much more than that.

Moore was not exactly an offensive genius here, how many times on film review did we see 4 curl routes:facepalm:

The offense primarily got by on talent level, not outstanding play design.

That is one of the reasons why we always struggle in the playoffs, the discrepancy between talent level is very small so play design and execution typically is what wins the games. How many points did we score against the 49ers?

Lets put it this way, if we would have lost to the 49ers by the score of 45-42, Moore would still be the OC.
