Problem is Kicker is the only position possibly more mental than QB. He can’t add pressure to the guy if we’re sticking with him

What else is McCarthy supposed to say about Zuerlein heading into the playoffs? Have you ever heard a head coach say they don’t have confidence in their kicker?

Well, he didn't exactly say he has confidence that he'll make his kicks. He just bragged on his preparation. I think he'll be ready to go, too. But he's clearly not the same kicker after two back surgeries that he was, so no matter how much he prepares, it's not going to turn him back into that kicker.
