McCarthy should be better, or be fired

He knew CeeDee Lamb was overdoing it, and a good coach doesn't allow that. In his desperation he ignored CeeDee's needs and let him get hurt.
CeeDee was trying to carry Dak and the offense, and Dak,too, was more than willing to let him do it. If you think Dak is a leader, that shows you that he isn't.
Now, that's up to the Cowboys how they handle it, but a NFL head coach should have known better and should not have let this happen, and a seasoned quarterback shouldn't have put him in that spot.
How many times have we watched CeeDee contort his body to try and catch one of Dak's wild throws? But he did, more often than not.
It is just more evidence of the dysfunction in Dallas.

Lol So Jimmy Johnson wasn't a good coach, and Troy wasn't a leader for letting Emmitt continue to play with a separated shoulder?

Didn't Stephen Jones state for the amount of money CeeDee is making, he should be targeted 15 - 18 times per game?

Mike McCarthy should have the ability to heal injuries with laser beams shooting out of his eyes.

He should be able to turn switches in Jerry's brain on and off using telepathy.

He's the same guy that got them to 12-5 three years in a row. He didn't just suddenly decide to relax this season.

McCarthy lost half his coaching staff in the offseason and half his team 8 weeks into the season.

There was also Jones deciding how the team would be improved and ultimately deciding it wasn't necessary.

Do you believe that Jerry Jones is completely uninvolved with the Cowboys gameplan every week? You don't think that Jerry constantly interjects his own strategy within the gameplan?

You honestly can't imagine Jerry instructing McCarthy on using certain players for certain plays?

As I've said all along, this guy's had 4 years to fix a penalty problem and hasn't been able to handle that. The team is never ready to compete. I never had any doubt that his epic failure would arrive and it's here.

Jerry is desperate. Firing MM in season is the last trick he has up his sleeve. I think it will likely happen but probably just make things worse a la the NYJ.

The penalty problems started long before McCarthy arrived....it's indicative of the team's culture and the lack of HC being able to actually bench and discipline players because Jerry wants to be their buddies. Jerry is absolutely the root of the discipline problems.

A good HC would not tolerate this nonsense.
Jerry hasn't hired one since Jimmy.
Parcells was just here to tolerate Jerry and pad his retirement.
There's 3 ways to handle penalties. One is discipline, 1 is motivation and 1 is peer pressure. Mike has failed on all 3 .

The coaches rely on the medical staff, if they say he can’t make it worse and CeeDee wants to go why not let him go? Ikll be he plays this weekend. A shoulder harness and a shot of Toradol will do amazing things.

McCarthy has a history of his teams having lots of penalties. The problem now is the Cowboys current roster is not good enough to overcome those penalties.

CD was waiving everyone off. I was there. Short of team security tackling him, he was going back in the game. His injury is minor but painful. Emmitt once played a half with a separated shoulder. Is that on Jimmy Johnson? Unless its a head injury, the players get a say.

I'm not talking about after the injury; once it happened, it was done and if he felt he could go it was okay to let him try. But it never should have happened.
A head coach should have known he was overdoing it and held him back so that he didn't get an injury.
I knew it; I had warned everyone here that it would happen because he was trying to do too much.
Real coaches know these things and protect their players from themselves. Now you have a $32 million receiver in his prime who is in danger of having a nagging injury that can reoccur at any time. Shoulders don't heal well or fast.
McCarthy was too desperate for a win. He above all people should have known that one player can't carry an offense.

I don't know anything about the injury or the prognosis for it. I only know CD thought he could play. That puts any coach in a tough spot. Mike is doing the same thing Jason Garret did when his back was against the wall. He's going to try to win the game with whoever is available.

The moronic part of keeping MM is that he is clearly a lame duck at this point so his interests no longer align with the franchises. He is going to have no interest in giving playing time to the younger guys who need it to develop. What does he care? He won't care if winning a few game at the end of the year costs us 10 draft spots. He's auditioning for his next job.
