You got to be kidding. The number 1 most penalized team in the nfl the last 3 years under Mike. And you are comparing him to Lombardi? It could be much worse. We could have Siriani as HC. MM is Vince Lombardy by comparison.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever. My man John Keats said thatyes. If the Giants beat Philly, after the year he's all but gone. Its a lock.
If McCarthy does a playoff game as he did vs Lions, Dallas loses!
Sure you do, if you're smart about it. Way too many teams lose by running 3 times and giving the ball back. You absolutely do not pass the ball whenever you're trying to run out the clock. How many more times does he have to do this before he's fired? Aaron Rodgers was right- he's an idiot.

We were also one of the most penalized teams every year under Garrett if I am remembering correctly. It's more a Cowboy's thing than a specific coaches thingYou got to be kidding. The number 1 most penalized team in the nfl the last 3 years under Mike. And you are comparing him to Lombardi?
Is it something in the uniforms? We were also one of the most penalized teams every year under Garrett if I am remembering correctly. It's more a Cowboy's thing than a specific coaches thing

The sack was a mistake. Should have ran on 3rd down forcing them to use their last time out and we have a shot at the a FG.If that 2 point conversion does not get negated by the penalty, McCarthy would be getting a lot more criticism. So would Quinn. The last 2 minutes of the game was just a pitiful coaching display.
But I think McCarthy was thinking he needed to get in FG range, and close enough so that a missed kick does not give the Lions too godd of field position. The tripping penalty was huge because it took Dallas from the 22 back to the 44. If they had a 2nd and 3 at the 22, I think McCarthy runs the ball instead of throwing it. He might have even used a designed run with Dak. If they get the first down the game is over. Even if they don't and the penalty does not stop the clock, the Cowboys can burn all but about 25 seconds off the clock and still kick the FG. Now the Lions have 25 seconds to go 75 yards for the TD.
What people are missing is the incorrect tripping call prevented Dallas from running out the clock on the Lions.
LOL the big red clapper!!!!Them's fighting words
The defense is on Dan Quinn. And why is it that Prescott absolutely HAS to throw the ball just because McCarthy calls it in? Can't he audible to a run play or simply pull the ball down? Is he simply a mindless robot who ONLY does what he is told? Who is the failsafe in this operation? One is desperately needed for situations like what happened Saturday night. He wasn't bad.
Things he has been bad at: making ad hoc adjustments that ended up costing us. I'm not counting the Cardinals game or even the Fins game. Those two games are forgivable. Both good teams. You can't control three offensive linemen being absent the day before the game.
The offense in general was bland. He didn't begin the season playing into Dak's strengths. He didn't design the scheme around the skill players strengths. Cooks, for instance, wasn't used correctly and still may not be being used 100 percent correctly. I think you should hand it to Cooks or use Cooks in screens once or twice a game. But really scheme to get him open.
Lack of using skill players in the run-game, i.e., like San Fran.
Insisting on using Parsons at DE in the run game. Instead of a DE who's stronger in the run-game and utilizing Parsons lateral speed and size at LB to stop the run.
Not using finding a way to utilize Sam Williams more.
We could go on. But I'm an optimist. I look at what McCarthy is doing right, and I see more of that than what he's doing wrong. He's a good coach. I think we can all see that. He's even a pretty good coordinator, I'd say.
Look around the league, and no coach is perfect. Even the Great Bilichick fell off the radar.
The refs not calling a bogus tripping penalty on Hendershot during Dallas' final drive would've helped ensure that final drive never took place. Dan Quinn playing "Falcon" defense on the last Detroit drive didn't help either. Why does Dak have to throw the ball...like some mindless robot???He has no sense of clock management at the end of games. Detroit never should have had that final drive. One incomplete pass literally gave Detroit an extra 45 seconds.
That "terrible coach" has Prescott playing the best ball of his career. You should remember that.12-5 season. Despite a terrible coach. Sounds realistic.
Can you imagine a good coaching staff? We would be like 25-0.
No, he is a repeated "offender", he has been historically bad with end-game clock mgmt. The exact same thing he did last season cost us the Jag's game and possibly a first-seed.He has been bad the past 3 games.
