I think you’re selling him short here. MM sees it he’s not a dumb guy he didn’t get to the top being dumb, he knows the situation but in his best interest he’s not going to make the FO his enemy as I’m sure he wants a career elsewhere when he’s done here. In fairness to McCarthy he knows damn well that Jerry isnt going to go out and start flipping draft picks to upgrade the roster at this point so what else is he supposed to say? The guy is trying just to not have the train completely come off the rails and hope that he finishes good enough to get an interview somewhere after this season and he needs to play nice so that Jerry will at least give him a good reference.

Not saying he is without fault, but McCarthy was put in a no win situation after the Green Bay loss.
