I like them going into the postseason this way.

Don't get me wrong. I'd rather be the dominant favorite to win it all but knowing how flawed this team is I'd rather them go in after getting embarrassed. Let's see them humbled and a little angry.

If they're ever going to beat the Bucs it'll be with this mindset rather than their usual overconfident, content, superstar attitude.
As I said in the game thread earlier during the game, last season Dak threw 5 TD’s against Philly backups and score over 50 points to end last season. How did that work out against SF?

The film study of this loss starts tonight on the bus, tonight on the plane. The coaching staff has to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.
First thing I would do is get my coaches together to figure out the proper messaging from this game.

Then do the dissection and figure out how to get all their players into the mindset of winning a playoff game in hostile territory.

Honestly don't think it makes a difference if they got a "feel good win" today or are going into the playoffs humbled, desperate and embarrassed.

The Dallas Cowboys culture is that of a bunch of entitled players living off of the success of Landry and Jimmy Johnson teams ages ago. The any press is good press and all advertising is good advertising ownership style is pervasive in Dallas. Thus when there is a modicum of success, the players are all left to feel entitled and have their head in the clouds as if they have accomplished a thing. That will never change until the Jones boys make it a different environment. Stay off the air. Stay out of the press. Make the HC the face and voice of the Dallas Cowboys. Give that HC free reign over personnel and who stays and goes in Dallas. That will stave off the ability to go above the coaches head and talk to ownership. Players will then be truly held accountable and subject to true repercussions.

I actually agree with this. Todays loss could be a wake up call.

Don't worry. He's on it.

That's almost as good as #4's infamous "I'm gonna do better" promises.
It's like neck and neck between these 2 stand up guys being the leaders and showing their team by example how to get the job done.

Man, I'm confident in this dynamic duo going forward.

The future is bright.

You know what’s the only thing worse than over confidence?

Lack of confidence

I am not happy with the way they played, but given how this team has failed in the post-season for so long, they don't need swagger, they need desperation and fear-of-losing mindsets.

Feel-good wins going into the playoffs have not helped this team in over 20 years, a reality check is probably the best thing for them.
Yep
I actually think a wake-up call is just what the Dr ordered. I feel better going into Tampa now.

Whenever we do play with desperation, our coaching and game management fails us. Let's not forget that we are on an at least 1 interception run per game slide. I live in Tampa, this bout to get ugly.

Why are guys like 11 and 27 4 21 still stumbling around in the 4th quarter down 17 points ?

The biggest issue to me coming out of this game is the OLine was manhandled . Todd Bowles not burning the tape , no . I want Tyler Smith back at LT in the playoffs and do what bandaids need to be applied elsewhere other then Zack Martin obviously .

As a center Connor McGovern is not . And Sweat got by Tyron Smith on one play so quickly he was shocked .

This ^^^ gets to the crux of the matter. Entitlement. Living off past glory.
Until or unless this team stops "mailing it in", like they did today, when they have equal or lesser opponents, the pattern just won't change.

McCarthy could be coaching for his job next week. If the Cowboys lay a rotten egg next week like they did today he could be gone.

24-10 the last two years is hard to do in the NFL. We haven’t done it since 93-94. I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss MM.
And he did it with Dak at QB.. Mike aint the problem here... But just like A.Brown and LVE, they get all the hate, till they re gone, then fans see how important they were to the team.
