I have seen it said that McCarthy's offense is really a West Coast style of offense. I don't know this to be true or not. I am not a deep thinker.

So, if it is based on something with shorter passes and RAC yards, how does this new alignment of players help or hurt that scheme?

Does this offer Dak more opportunities to complete passes since the ball is not traveling as far?

Does this eliminate some of the drops we've seen recently from our WR?

How does this passing attack change the defensive set against our running game?

Does this now make Zeke and Pollard more dangerous in the passing attack because of McCarthy?

Does it make those two more dangerous in the passing attack because of the way the defense have to respect the WR's

Does adding Lamb, in a way, supplant what conventionally is the TE game of playing the hash marks because he can do so as well out of the slot?

Does the differing combinations of Cooper, Gallup, and Lamb alternating positions in plays force mistakes by the defense?

Does the quick throw help the offensive line since we all have our fears about losing FredBeard and how that will play out?

Just wanting to talk football here. What say you?

As A Cowboys fan living in Wisconsin one thing I can tell you FOR SURE.....Expect a lot of rub routes, and I do mean tons of them! Mac is thee mac daddy of running rub routes. And were gonna be REALLY good at it too if our players accept the coaching. I used to get so pissed watching G.B run pick after pick after pick but never getting called for it because they go right up to the line of being illegal but never seem to go over enuff to get called. VERY effective.

From what I understand, our new Offense under new Head Coach Mike McCarthy and 2nd year O-Coordinator Kellen Moore will be a mix of everything both from McCarthy’s and Moore's pasts, plus some new wrinkles. Coach McCarthy has made it clear his style will conform every year to his available players' talents, not limit yourself to players that only fit your limited style.

I believe Coach McCarthy has it right. Can't wait to see this new Offense on the field. It's definitely going to be exciting to watch it put up 30+ points on the board every single game.

Agreed! Finally the shoe is on the other foot, and we will finally use that knowledge to our advantage.

Well, GB had the best pass blocking team I’ve ever seen year after year. A lot of holding and such, but they got away with it.

So, does Dallas incorporate that holding technique GB utilizes to be as successful?

And if so, does the league suddenly start calling holding on Dallas yet still allows GB to hold?

OK, 2 posts so far in this thread about GB under MM playing to the edge of legal play and rarely getting called ( rub routes and their strange OL holding techniques). Is there anyone here who thinks the Cowboys get away with any of this?

Depends. Everyone holds, but I’m sure Philbin has some tricks. I hate how are Oline has always worn the opposite color of the opposition jerseys. Just little nuances that stand out.

Yes, I think they can get away with it. I hear through the grapevine that the refs are intimated by Big Mike's sheer size and his penetrating gaze. :omg:

I'm hesitant to call it McCarty's offense at this particular time. I think that would be an injustice, no matter what direction they go.

Besides, McCarty isn't here to build a team, that is pretty much done with the exception of replacing pieces.

McCarty was brought here to plan and manage games. This was Garrett's weak point and his ultimate demise.

It's really McCarty's overall strategy and decision making during a game that's supposed to be a difference maker. We shall see.
