Again, I said our run d has no chance without him. McClain makes a big difference. You have your opinion, I have mine.

I think our chances are a lot better with him playing and even more so if Carter could play also.

This defense has zero chance to stop a good run team without McClain. That's already been proven. Foster got more than half his yards last week at the end of the game after McClain went out.

The defense does have a chance without McClain. We've won a game without him and we do have an offense, special teams also. McClain is good but please stop with this 'we can't win without McClain' crap.

Practice Update: McClain Returns, 2 LBs Still Missing

IRVING, Texas – For the second time this season, Rolando McClain was back at practice Friday after spending the week away from the field.

McClain worked his way back into the action on what his typically considered the lightest practice day of a game week – a good sign for the Cowboys’ prospects of using him Sunday against Seattle.

I didn't say they can't win. I'm saying they are going to get gashed to pieces in the run game without him. That's been the case every series he's missed.

If we had Carter too, I'd feel a little more confident.

If this linebacking corp can get healthy and stay healthy, along with the addition of Lawrence and Brent, the front seven should be reasonably sturdy.

Just because Jerry says he's going to play doesn't make him 100% all of a sudden. He will be playing hurt and may aggravate it even further and be out after the first series. I am sure Seattle will test him and iso him on the RB to test that groin early. I hope he can last 4 quarters.

Even before Jerry said anything they had said Ro was feeling it was not that bad after the game was over with the Texans, the following Monday he said it was not feeling that bad. I think much of this is Dallas trying to give him as much rest and treatment as they can. I feel very confident he will be playing this weekend. Carter on the other hand based on what he has said and others I don't see him playing in this game but should be ready to go for NY game

No they aren't. You mentioned the Texans game. Foster was going to get his yards no matter what. When he's good he's really good. You are really overreacting to that game. Foster had 6 runs of 10 yards or more before McClain left the game. You are giving McClain too much credit. I like him but man he isn't that big of difference maker where we are going to get killed in the running game. St. Louis didn't run all over us and McClain didn't play in that game. This defense is capable of stopping the run with or without McClain.

The D is not as physical nor as confident without McClain. You can hear it in the other players voices as they praise McClain. McClain did not ask for it, but he is the leader of this D. And his leadership, presence, swagger, etc. are only the intangibles he brings - his play on the field is even more valuable.

I think the DL needs to play run as the top priority this week. Generally, this DL is pass rush 1st which puts a lot of pressure one the LBs to stop the run.

Playing more of a contain style would also be good against a running QB.

The DE Jack Crawford was a big culprit in many of Fosters big runs last week.

They need to have Ken Bishop active this week. He is the stongest DL they have taking on double teams. Terrell McClain does not appear to be completely healthy.

We can beat teams without him like Tennessee and St Louis, but not the defending champions with one of the best running games and complete teams of this era, and especially if Carter is already out (along with, of course, Lee). Any given Sunday, but I wouldn't like our chances stopping the run without Ro

Great news ! Per jerry on the fan.

every quote i read from him, he is all about needing this team and the team needing everyone, and that's just awesome. I hope tho he's not going out there at 80% healthy with a change to re-aggravate for the worse. We'll need him more so for the Giant game. btw, I knocked on wood! ;)

McClain is a different kind of cat. You can tell that by his interviews and his background but the dude can play. He's only going to get better since he missed last year. Can he make a difference against the Hawks..Oh yea...

So is this saying he is 100% and is playing or is he 75-80% playing dinged up because he is being told to suck it up. If he isn't 100% I'd rather he sit and get healty, we'll need him for more than one game.

McClain is definitely making a difference but man I wish you and some others would stop thinking one man makes that much of difference. He makes a difference of course but saying we have no chance when we have very capable players on both sides of the ball of ridiculous.

I see a distinct difference with Robo Cop in the line up.

McClain does bring a certain mentality and aggressiveness that can hype up others around him.

Expecting a physical battle this week. Should be real fun to watch.

The epitome of "making your teammates better".

We have a chance without in the lineup.

Without him the Seattle offense will dictate all day! With him in the lineup I predict 28-14 Cowboy loss (see post below from another thread)

Step away from the Cool-Aid! When a very good defense meets a very good offense the defense wins 90% of the time (see last Super Bowl) and this is what the Cowboys face. When a average defense meets a good offense, the defense wares out in the four quarter and this is what the Cowboys will face. The odds of Seattle winning in a beat down is 75%. The odds of Dallas winning by a little is 25%. Go ahead and bet the farm on the Cowboys and we will see where you are Monday.

Having said that GO COWBOYS!
