Video: McCoy teaching Hill a valuable lesson

McCoy: Hey rook...
Hill: I’m not a rookie!
McCoy: Whatever. You see that tent right there? How ‘bout you go fetch me a bottle of water and let a non-rookie try to stop me.
Hill: Jerk

McCoy: Hey rook...
Hill: I’m not a rookie!
McCoy: Until you have more than ten snaps in the NFL....you are a rookie.
Hill: Yes sir.

Im rooting for Hill. He is on my favorite football team I want him to prove ME wrong that he is a waste of a roster spot. Id love to have a good young player back up every starter on the Dline

The vets Dallas brought in are great but they won't be there forever. If they can help make a player out of Hill everyone wins.

I'm hoping he can get through to the young man and teach him what it takes to succeed at this level. It's a win-win all around if he can, for the young man's career and for our Dallas Cowboys.

The problem is that it's dumb to have written him off so quickly.
Sure enough. Good point.

Some guys take longer than other’s to mature and figure out how to be a pro.

That doesn’t mean that Hill is going to be a pro bowl player... but neither does it mean that he won’t be either. Today’s instant gratification society wants immediate results but in the NFL that doesn’t always happen.

Yup.

A real issue with Marinelli is that once he doghoused a player, it took forever to get out. Jones had to intervene to get Taco back on the field his rookie season.

Hill did play poorly but his worst performances were when he was thrown in to play the 1. Dude doesn't play that position at all in preseason and he ends up playing snap at 1 and looked like he's on skates. No idea why Collins wasn't the one who moved. He, at least, had some experience there.

It's a shame that Taco wasn't still around to serve as a mentor. That would be a perfect role model for him.

I didn't see mccoy specifically teaching hill anything. Maybe i missed it. Or was hill paying attention to how it should be done?
