I don't like him wearing a Cowboy uniform even if he is paying the Cowboys to play for them. He is a total waste of a roster position.

I'm fine with keeping one guy as a ST specialist. As bad as we showed in the PS I think losing one of our best is risky to say the least. Bad ST plays lead to bad field position and easy scores and defense by the opposition.

I would have preferred they kept a guy who more effectively plays a position ..... But if you are going to keep him this is the way to do it. I'm happy with the way the organization has handled his retention.

Not only did they keep this one, they traded for another one. Then you have Frampton and a couple more that can't play anything other than special teams. With these special teams aces, I would think that it would show on the field.

Do you people realize exactly how important special teams is? Keeping the guy was a great move.

I was taught that it is an equal 1/3 to Offense and Defense and it's the easiest one to excel at. All it takes is desire, execution and actual practice time, not just walk thrus. So many games are evenly matched and winning the Special Teams battle is often the deciding factor. When your best players also play on Special Teams, they can usually dominate the other teams that put their scrubs out there to prevent injury or give the starters a rest.

People say this but it isn't true, it's not at all an equal 1/3rd. How many plays a game are there in special teams versus offense and defense? It's important but not an equal 3rd.

To Jerry, a pay cut must be a "forget about last year's bad play, we just stuck it to this guy" message to the fans. First Free, now McCray. If a guy isn't good, cut him. Plain and simple.

Hey, that's your opinion. Considering they are scoring plays or opportunities to create big plays their IMPORTANCE is equal to many coaches. It's not the number of plays that matter, it the big plays on Special Teams that change games. Blocked punts, kick returns for TDs and being close enough to cause and recover fumbles on returns are like free points.

Amount of plays doesn't equal importance, wins and losses do, and we all know the Cowboys have lost more than a handful of games because of special teams throughout the years. Just look at the Ravens, Jacoby Jones was a VITAL piece of their Super Bowl run. Speaking of which the Ravens are a team we lost to due to special teams. (JJ 108 yd return, Bailey missed GW) Guess what put us in position for the GW though? Onside kick. Seems pretty important, aye?
