....unlike Jim Johnson. McDermott tends to move his pieces around, not just game to game, but sometimes half to half. Expect different D starters on Saturday at FS (Sean Jones over Macho Harris), SAM (Chris Gocong/Akeem Jordan over Moise Fokou), LDE (Chris Gocong/Chris Clemons over Victor Abiamiri). McDermott is so scared of being gashed by the run again that he will go big, to start the game at least.

Jeremiah Trotter replaced Akeem Jordan permanently in the middle last Sunday & they believe it stemmed the Cowboys' running attack in the 2nd half.

So in addition to more blitzes, expect bigger more physical better tackling personnel to combat Dallas' running game. This should open up big-time passing opportunities for Dallas, especially if the Cowboys go no-huddle (not allowing Eagles to sub).

The moving pieces was mentioned in an article somewhere. It was also mentioned that hit caused communication issues within the defense.

By all means, let them play Trotter. His coverage skills are very poor.

Trotter flat out SUCKS. I still hate that guy almost as much as I hate Antonio Pierce.

If Garrett can hit on a big play early, whether against the blitz or a big run, McDermott will panic, pulling guys out and messing up continuity & communication even more. Last Sunday he kind of went into a shell, conservative mode, but now he's second guessing himself, admitting that he should have never given up the aggressive playcalling (blitzes).

But people forget that McDermott pulled back b/c Cowboys scored the first couple of times against their blitz. Garrett confused Eags D by showing them one thing and then doing something different. Whether they blitzed or not, the Eags were guessing, and guessing wrong. And the Cowboys beat the Eags in Aug even when McDermott threw the kitchen sink at Romo.

Garrett outcoached McDermott plain and simple, had them on their heels most of the game_if Garrett can do it again, it won't matter what personnel McDermott puts in.

Nice in depth analysis. Not sure it's going down that way but its plausible. I think they with run and pass blitz the hell out of us cause the opposite didn't work so well for them. My guess is the steadiest players who can blitz the best will be out there. Trotter is sloooooow.

If we go 2 TEs, 1 RB and 2 WRs we should not need to sub in on 3rd down. If we are going to do this, though, we need to put RW on the sidelines and have Crayton and Austin in as the WRs.

We can give a number of looks on downs 1 and 2.

I would put Austin and Crayton on the same side on 3rd so Crayton could stay in the slot. We could do a number of different things at TE but I would often like to leave Bennett in to block. We could also run screens to Bennett out of this formation. The biggest reason why I like it is we can hopefully be able to get Bennett or Witten matched on some of these slower LBs. However, if they want to go to big LBs with bad cover skills, I would seriously consider passing lots on first and second down. BTW, I like Felix in this lineup because of his explosive speed - maybe we could manage to get him out in the flat on Trotter.
