McFadden will be inactive tonight vs. the Giants, according to sources. Alfred Morris and Rod Smith will serve as Ezekiel Elliott's backups. It's the first time McFadden will be a healthy scratch in his career.

Rod Smith plays special teams, so that's why he's active over D-Mac.

Still, the Cowboys are going to have to use Alfred Morris more in the passing game so we're not too predictable.

Morris is turd.....

No he's not. He's dropped weight and you could see how much more explosive he looked over the summer. He will get a couple series tonight to keep Elliott fresh.

But with McFadden inactive, looks like Zeke is the third down guy. Alf can't catch too well.

Morris is an actual legit feature back. McFadden has never been that in his entire career. College or pro.

So we got a better backup to Zeke should he go down and this also means Zeke on 3rd downs.

Win/win.
