I hope this Thursday the Cowboys have Mcfadden active for the game and sit Morris.
Some will say he hasn't practiced yada yada yada. He's a pro's pro and I'm sure he's in shape albeit not perfect game shape.
But how many carries is he going to get anyway?
Morris in the last 4 games has had 26 carries for 78 yards. 3.0 yards per carry. Take away the Cleveland game where he had 17 for 56 (3.29 per carry) and in the other 3 games in this 4 game stretch he's had 9 carries for 22 yards. 2.4 per carry.
These aren't garbage time carries with 10 in the box and a min to play. We can't give away a series just to give Zeke a breather.
He seems slow to the hole, can't push the pile and no chance to bounce it outside. Provides nothing in the passing game.
We need all hands on deck for this game. Washington will move the ball on our depleted secondary and put up some points. We need to control the clock and play keep away while scoring TD's and not settling for FGs.
McFadden should be fresh, healthy, knows the offense, can pass protect and be a weapon in the passing game plus has a better chance of explosive plays than Morris in a limited role.
We may need all the big plays we can get in this game.
As usual we are the skins super bowl!

Ok fire away. I'm ducked!

Morris just doesn't look like the same guy we were seeing in the preseason. I'm fine with giving McFadden some carries to see if he can be an upgrade.

I have no problem with this and i was happy we brought in Morris, but football is about winning and Morris isnt helping as much.

Completely disagree.

I would actually increase Morris' role this Thurs. Guy has a grudge against his old team and may be able to bring some extra juice to this game and get our guys fired up. On a short week, I'd tap into every little edge I could find to get the team pumped up.

McFadden is only active from the NFI list, no moves have been made to put him on the 53 team roster yet.
So I doubt that happens with the short week.

Maybe for the Vikings or Giants game.
And I do agree, he needs to get in there over Morros and / or Dunbar for the stretch run.

Didn't we have to completely change the blocking scheme to make McFadden effective?

McFadden was much more effective in Man blocking than in zone blocking runs. 6.x to 3.x yds/carry

But we are not a 100% zone blocking team anyways. So we shouldnt have to adjust alot for him.

Maybe they could re-play one of Dexter Manley's interviews - "I'm going to get to Danny White again and again..."

I would be happy with Dunbar at #2 and McFadden at #3. Dunbar is a good threat catching the ball and is a matchup issue out of the backfield. He's also shown he can make a couple of respectable carries in a game. McFadden is 1 dimensional as you can only run inside zone plays with him. He's a good receiver as well, but I think Dunbar is better at catching the ball and more versatile as a runner.

Ideally you'd love a power back to compliment EE, but Morris isn't cutting the mustard and we are better off taking the more productive RB to backup EE.

I don't want to see Dunbar on the field at all.. he's a passing threat. Ok but he's a complete and utter liability in pass protection and he cant pick up dirty yards.

Morris should be bringing that extra juice every game day. I was really excited for Dallas bringing him in. But I just don't see it when he runs. I just don't understand what's going on with him.

My choice is to sit Dunbar and play McFadden. I have no idea why so many on here dislike McFadden. He's a damn good player and he's very versatile. He's a good blocker and a great receiving threat out of the backfield. It would help keep Zeke fresh for the final few games and the playoffs too.

By the way, I wasn't talking about the game this week. I'm talking about using McFadden some during the next few games. I highly doubt he's going to be playing on Thursday after not practicing all year.

Hard to get into a rhythm when you only get 2-3 carries a game. Zeke is balling right now and this team feeds off his energy. This game though-- I'd give Morris 10 carries and see what he does with them. Would be great if he could add a spark and allow us to rest Zeke a bit.

It will be interesting to see how dallas attacks this game thursday. Morris getting into a rhythm is something I have considered also.

Alfred is fine,,, you can't just bring a guy in cold off the bench, let him run it twice, then make an educated assessment of his abilities. He needs more carries. If you took snapshots of Zeke's stats from the first half you'd be wondering why we even drafted that bum!
