Hamilton and Geathers both cleared waivers and got the decision to sign with whoever they wanted. They went unclaimed, cleared the waivers, and then teams contacted them to sign with them. If either were claimed they would have to have been signed to the 53.

Nagy was claimed after he got cut because of his ankle injury. There's a good chance that he would have made a better C than Costa, but that's for the Lions to figure out now.

Nagy was claimed after he got cut because of his ankle injury. There's a good chance that he would have made a better C than Costa, but that's for the Lions to figure out now.

That was a stupid move. We might as well have kept him on our IR and gave him a shot next season.

The only benefit I can think of is the Lions pay his salary but I doubt he was due all that much as a 7th rounder.

Having said that he might just be brittle. Bad accident at Wisconsin. Broke his ankle here after 6 weeks of play. Then badly injures the ankle again in TC and misses a whole season again.

It just doesn't seem like he is durable enough to survive in the league.

I wish Nagy well and wish we got another look at him next year because I really liked his potential at Center with his quickness and agility. Oh well, our best hopes lie now in Killer Kowalski recovering from whatever ails him.

I think Nagy had potential to develop for sure, but like you said injuries have plagued the crap out of him. Hopefully Costa does improve.... We'll see about that. If/When he disappoints again, I honestly wouldn't mind having an entire draft dedicated to both offensive and defensive lines.
