Rating the NFL draft prospects: Specialists
April 29, 2015
The Journal Sentinel's Bob McGinn assesses the top specialists and kick returners in the draft. Included is each player's height, weight, 40-yard dash time, and projected round for all but kick returners.
KICKERS
1. JOSH LAMBO, Texas A&M (6-0, 215, no 40, 7): Former Major League Soccer goalkeeper turned to football in 2012 after never having played the sport. Assumed job in 2013 and made 21 of 25 FGs (84%), with a long of 50 yards and game-winner of 33 to beat Mississippi State at the gun in 2013. "Good free agent," said one scout. "Real good kid. Older kid." Will be 25 in November. Didn't kick off for Aggies, but impressive leg power shouldn't preclude him from doing it. Just one career miss inside 40. Tutored by former Badgers K Taylor Mehlhaff. Missed four of 15 at the combine. "One clanged off the upright, the others were within two or three feet," said Lambo. "I left feeling pretty disappointed immediately afterward with my field goals because field goals is what I was known for. Field goals is what got me to the combine. I felt like I underperformed statistically. But I felt my kickoffs were pretty solid." Played most of the 2005 soccer season as a freshman at Middleton High School northwest of Madison. Scored 31 on the 50-question Wonderlic intelligence test.

For those asking about returners/special teams players to replace Harris, it is after the kickers and punters
