Yo man, this is not the same NFC East his team use to dominate.
He may not realize that now, but he is in for a rude awakening.
Believe it!
The eagles are so arrogant. They really, truly believe that last year was an abberation. I think its going to be closer to the norm for them. Its not the 2003 Skins, Giants, and Boys anymore. In fact, most of the entire roster of each of those teams has been purged and upgraded not to mention a few entirely new systems and schemes and coaches...meanwhile, Philly has let several of their best players walk, and refuse to change anything about what they were doing on offense or defense. They still have an offensive playbook similiar to the original tecmobowl that involves mostly screen passes to westbrook. They now have one of the absolute worst WR corps in the league, seriously. Their DL should be better than last year but their CBs are no longer good enough to leave one on one and blitz 9 guys every play. (Especially since the division foes now have WRs named TO, Glenn, Santana Moss, and Plaxico) Ask Lito Shepperd and Terry Glenn.
The Eagles won ZERO games in the division last year. Zero. And of the 6 games they won, they were behind in some of them. If it weren't for TO, they would've lost at least two more. They blame everything about last year on Mcnabb getting injured. Until they get over themselves and their recent domination of a previously bad division and change some of their ways, 6 wins is going to be closer to the norm rather than an anomaly.
Mcchunky himself needs to take a long hard look in the mirror too. Without TO, he's not a great QB. Yeah yeah stats.....screen passes pad stats. Mcchunky now is too fat to be much of a threat to scramble, the very thing that made him so doubly dangerous. His success was never about pure pocket-passing...it was about him being just good enough to find an open guy but ALSO being a threat to run for 20 yards every time you covered everyone. Without him being a threat to run, (and without TO) his passing skills are going to be tested. And he also has very little to work with downfield. I suspect that philthy fans may be calling for mcnabb's head after they lose their first three divisional games.
I think Philly's arrogance is going to be their downfall this year. I'm not sure how they are going to score points and I don't think they're going to win a lot. Even their defense, which should be decent and has long been a source of pride for them, is likely going to be the worst in the division.
I can't stand TO for sure, but I really do believe a lot of what he said about Mcnubb.
The question is...will another 6-10 season and last place divisional finish be enough to force the eagles to start questioning themselves and what they're doing?
