McNabb to D.C.: Elway Redux, or Bledsoe, the Sequel?

ACtually I do visit ES, hard to stay because when they find you to be a Cowboy fan, banning comes easier there.

But again, Im not saying all fans or particular fans, but every offseason is the same for the skins nation "WE WIN IN APRIL BABY"!!!!!!!!

AFter it being screamed this year would be different, doesnt really seem to be panning out that way.

You've actually heard "some" Skins fans claiming that "WE'VE WON APRIL BABY!!" this offseason? lol...I haven't, and I hang around (figuratively speaking) with nothing BUT Skins fans. The colossal, overwhelming sentiments so far have been 1) "Why haven't we done anything yet in free agency to shore up the O-Line?!?!", 2) "I hope we draft Bradford/Claussen/Okung with the #4 pick", and 3) "It will take a few drafts before we fill all the holes, look for 2011/2012 for the Skins to be consistently competitive." There has also been a ton of criticism and opinions given about signing both Johnson and Parker...

None of that qualifies as "WE WIN IN APRIL BABY!!" talk in my eyes. I really don't recognize the Skins fans you're describing, at least not this year lol.

Well, prior to Shanahan Elway got to Superbowls but was soundly beaten, even more badly each time

Superbowl 21 vs Giants 39-20

Superbowl 22 vs Commanders 42-10

Superbowl 24 vs 49ers 55-10

Elway is in a class far above McNabb. You however cannot discount McNabb's career, which featured the likes of Todd Pinkston as his supporting cast

his career also featured one of the best defenses in the league year after year in philly. As the defense has come back to the pack so have the eagles.

and not for nothing but mcnabb has had some good talent at running back, better than the talent elway had at running back. Westbrook is better than any back elway played with till davis showed up. Unless you think bobby humpries is better or steve sewell.

The eagles have had good offensive players around mcnabb, they just never had that one big time explosive wr, sans owens. And for what its worth the wr elway always had in nattiel, miller and the rest of those guys all were at their best with elway, just like pinkston, mitchell etc were best with mcnabb.

And the one nugget you are leaving out is the fact that shanahan had already worked with elway, it wasnt like they just met.

I think mcnabb and shanahan will be a good match and he will get better results without question but dont act like mcnabb never had talent around him.

cause, if elway had the eagles defense in 01 or 02 he might have won a superbowl in the 80s.

oh and just because I find it ironic, elway threw for his career high in TDs and yards under wade phillips!
