have to admit that when I first read the title of this thread, prior to opening it. I thought to myself, interesting, I wonder why the eagles would sign Galloway. I then shortly remembered that Mcnabb was a Commander..

weird

They're like the Raiders of the NFC.

Almost makes me want to visit Extremeskins to hear them fawn at their front office because we spent two firsts on this guy and they just got him for free.

I wonder if John Riggins still needs a team. Maybe the Commanders can add him too.

Riggo will be staying at my hotel one night this weekend (he's the sports marshall for the Apple Blossom Festival), I'll ask him...

If he's sober... :D

That guy kills me. He may be my all time favorite Commanders player because of the passion he played with and the fact he is just bizarre as hell.

The Skins OL used to have a "5 o'clock club" that every day after practice would indulge in some beer together at one end of the practice field in a tool shed. Gibbs was worried about this and the image. He went to Riggins. Riggo promised to handle it.

The next day the 5 o'clock club enjoyed their beer as always, but off club property.

Hilarious.

Useless signing. He was done 2 years ago. He did absolutely nothing, due to injuries mainly, his last year in Tampa and last year for New England he was absolutely useless.

This will not help the Skins.

Sorry. He will help them.

Taking more money out of Danny's pockets.
Maybe he will get hurt and an injury settlement.

I hope they get Rocket Ismail to come out of retirement and play on the opposite side. How awesome would that be facing our 2001 starting wide-outs almost a decade later?

I thought he was dead.

Commanders agree to terms with Bobby Wade

4/29/2010 8:32:09 AM

CSNwashington.com reports in addition to agreeing to terms with wide receiver Joey Galloway, the Commanders also reached a contract agreement with wide receiver Bobby Wade.

Contract terms for Wade have not been confirmed. Wade, 29, played 12 games for Kansas City last year.

He has played for the Bears, Titans, Vikings and Chiefs during his eight-year NFL career. Last season in Kansas City he grabbed 36 receptions for 367 yards and two touchdowns.

The Commanders are adding old players like a team that was on the cusp of being something special (like the Pats have done a few times), instead of a team that went 4-12.

3 draft picks? Really? An older roster that needs an infusion of young talent and you trade away over half of your draft?

As much as I detest Jerry Jones, at least he isn't Snyder. And when it comes to Shanahan, I think he's a brilliant coach, but as a personnel guy, he's a trainwreck.

Good lord, I'm glad Shannahan went to the Skins. First, a terrible draft by all accounts, and now 'let's sign as many over the hill, mediocre wideouts as we can find'.

I agree. Adding these players will improve the team, but only a little. They will go from 4-12 to possibly 9-7. It is not going to make them a contender. And long term it does not help them at all. In 3 or 4 years and possibly even less time, McNabb, Galloway and Wade will be gone. Santana Moss will be gone, too.
