Replace Bledsoe with Romo....Right an undrafted FA pick with no game time experience is going to replace a probowler.

The difference is that Romo had been with the Cowboys for three years

last time Bledsoe was in the probowl was in 03 Flozell was there in 05 and probally would have made 06 without getting hurt.

Some people suffer from this:

1.willful ignorance

(noun)
The practice or act of intentional and blatant avoidance, disregard or disagreement with facts, empirical evidence and well-founded arguements because they oppose or contradict your own existing personal beliefs.

This practice is most commonly found in the political or religious ideologies of "conservative" Americans. (Football Forums too) :)

Many times it is practiced due to laziness--people not wanting to have to do the work to rethink their opinions, the fear of the unknown, the fear of being wrong, or sometimes simply close-mindedness.

Actually the last half of the season Flo has done pretty good. MOSTLY.
I really don't think so. He sucked it up against Detroit, when he was going up against a first year starter -- I think it might even have been that player's first game starting.

He also played poorly against Philadelphia.

Yeah, I know he's been active for a couple games at least. I remember reading that he was going to be active instead of Fabini and thinking that must mean he's been coming along nicely in a practice, because Fabini has (1) the experience, and (2) has looked pretty good every chance he's had to play this year.

Even is that is the case, do you really want his first action to be in the playoffs. I don't think I would.
He played last week. And he's only going to play Fabini's spot anyway, which is mainly leading the wedge on KO returns and that specialty third-"TE" blocking position.

But if he *did* have to play some tackle in the event of an injury, he'd be better anyway. Fabini has the experience edge, but that's the only place he's better. McQ simply has tons more talent at this point in their careers.

We can only assume that is the case. Fabini has actually looked pretty good every time he's been given the chance to play this year. McQuistan may look good in practice -- maybe even better than Fabini -- but that doesn't really say much when it comes time to play in games, particularly high stress games in the playoffs.

Pat Watkins looked great in training camp -- got a pick nearly every day and had Parcells raving about him. Then when he got into game scenarios he froze up. Giving rookies playing time is a big gamble, and now's a strange time to start gambling.

Yea.. you're going to have to hope for Proctor to step up.. McQ is definitely not a Guard.. it would be like Columbo playing Guard..

FYI, his twin brother has played G all year for the Raiders, and by all reports has played well.

And some kids are ready faster than others. Remember, his brother was a 3rd round pick and one of the highest rated OTs in last years draft who hs played all year. They are identical so i would presume if it hadn't been for Pat's short baseball career, he would have been right up there with bro.

I have no doubt he can play just let him develop first.

BP said that McQuistan would be active this week. Why you ask? He said that McQuistan needs the gametime/playoff enviroment because he thinks he is going to be a pretty good player. Does this mean Flo will be dealt or released this offseason?

No one is trading for a 30 something year old Left Tackle coming of knee surgery that might have to be moved to Right Tackle ...

Solution...

Draft Levi Jones.. and Have him sit behind FLO until his deal is up.. McQuistan. Columbo and Jones can Battle for Tackle Positions.. You can NEVER have enough depth at Tackle.. Injuries are too common.

I guess that's my point, maybe he is? I don't know any more than what Bill has said, but it leads me to believe the kid could be ready sooner rather than later.

Yeah because that worst offense in league really open up holes for Fargas:eek:

Draft Countdown's latest mock. :) I Don't think Levi Jones is available in this draft.

26. DALLAS COWBOYSLEVI BROWN

OT | Penn St. | Scouting Report
levibrown.jpg
The offensive line is without question the biggest problem area in Big D and the fact that Marc Colombo is starting for them speaks volumes about the state of that group. Levi Brown is a mountain of a man at 6-5 and 325 pounds and while he could potentially play left tackle in the pros like he does for the Nittany Lions he'd be of greater service replacing Colombo on the right side for the Cowboys. This may be just a slight reach but when you are as desperate for offensive line help as Dallas is you tend to do whatever is necessary to bring in help even if it means taking a guy like Brown ten spots early then so be it, although Justin Blalock would work as well.

Can't we at least wait until we're out of the playoffs for every thread to turn into a draft thread?

Boy ain't that the truth. I'm just afraid Jerry is gun shy after the Rogers fiasco. We need to keep trying untill we get some more young talent up front.
