McShay: CB Jenkins begins easing concerns

Are you one of his crew??

If not, then you don't have the first flippin' clue what he's been doing the last year...

Are you, then you don't either. I'm going off what I hear and read and from that he hasn't done anything. He had a fight 3 years ago. I doubt he is the only player in the draft to be in a fight in the past three years.

You don't know the guy or hang with him so how do you know what he's been up to the last three years.

If he has a great senior practices, combine and interviews, then he is a first round talent, most likely a top 15 pick.

Your hating on a guy for two things, one that happened three years ago.
Alot of people do stupid things when they are 21.

two possession charges in 5 months - as late as April 2011. Kind of pisses all over your claim he has matured

so I guess you don't like Kirkpatrick, or 50% of the NFL.
Sorry man if you think every player is clean but the majority of the NFL does this. They just don't get caught.

I think Garrett and our scouts are pretty hard-line about this sort of stuff. I don't think there's a chance that we draft him.

I don't either, that doesn't mean he isn't a great player and some other team wont draft him.
I don't think Dallas will draft him due to Garrett and I don't have a problem with it, but if New England or Pittsburgh takes him then everyone will talk about how it was a great pick and in 3 years people on here will blame Jerry for missing out on a great player.

I agree he is 1st rd talent but would not be shocked to see him fall out of the 1st rd. It would not be the 1st time a player highly regarded skill wise fell out of the 1st rd due to concerns.

i would be upset if we end up with kirkpatrick over Janoris Jenkins they are both risks in my opinion but Jenkins is way more talented.

I'm not the one claiming to know how he's conducted himself this past year...

I'm going off what I hear and read and from that he hasn't done anything.

Which might well just mean that he hasn't gotten caught...

Never claimed I did, you're the one doing that... and it's really, really comical...

For that matter, I'm not even saying he hasn't grown up... I'm just saying that I'm not gonna spend a first round draft pick on a guy who managed to get himself arrested three times in the space of less than 2 years...

And IMO, anyone who does is an idiot... I suspect that your opinion about the wisdom of drafting him would be a little different if you were the one who was gonna have to pay him a multimillion dollar contract... but since it's Jerry's money, hey, who cares, let's draft every druggie out there, right??

I don't have a problem with him toking up, but the NFL does and will levy mandatory suspensions.

I would entertain the thought of Jenkins starting at #45 as the talent is there.

No reason anyone should chance a first rd pick on someone with that kind of history. Really dumb to do. He showed lack of brains and judgement; and this is BS about calling him a kid. 21 is an adult in all ways; act like it or pay the price.

Ok, then i guess Dre is off your draft board as well.

but you are, your saying he did this and that in the past so your thinking or saying he must still be doing that.

I look at it and have read and living in Nashville I know people close to Northern Alabama, and from what I have heard he has really grown up over the past year and says that leaving Florida was more of a wake up call.

agree. 2nd round i would be willing to gamble but we need a cant miss at 14

This. I would even move up in the second if he is there. If we play it safe with DeCastro at 14 this kid should immediately come into play.

we don't need any more problem children or stupid people and they qualify.

well it has not been a year since April 2011 so that statement is clearly false.

you can have druggies on your fantasy team; I want none that I know about on the Boys.

So no Dre or Jenkins for you.. got it.

Would be shocked to see him on our board at all. Not the type guy Garrett wants around other guys. Kid still has a lot of growing up to do and big money ain't going to help him.

We have one head case with Bryant, don't need two.

I don't have a problem with players smoking weed at all. I have a problem with players being stupid, and getting caught. C'mon son!

I understand he has had legal issues in the past, but if he interviews well and convinces coaches he will be fine, then this guy is a cant miss! I watched him at Florida all the time, he shutdown aj green and Julio jones. He wanted the opposing teams top wide out everytime, unlike joe hayden(who is top 5 corner in league now). He is most aggressive physical corner. Loves press man coverage on an island. Plays ball excellent. This is the kind of defender we want. Has a certain swag as well. I guarantee this guy would be a shut down corner for us. Complete opposite of Newman, and would fit robs system excellent

That must be what passes for logic in your neck of the woods, but all it really is, is a load of crap...

I'm saying he did this and that in the past, so he's a RISK for getting suspended in the future, and I don't want to spend the 14th pick in the draft, and the money it will take to pay the 14th pick on such a player...

There will be plenty of fine talent available for that pick that won't carry that kind of a problem going in...

In my neck of the woods, this is what they call COMMON SENSE, which I'm starting to suspect is a concept that's lost on you...

Chuckle... yeah, I'm SUUUUUURE you're wired in to the goings-on at Northern Alabama...

C'mon, he's managed to go 9 whole months without getting busted, he's clearly a changed man!!!

That's a really good point, Sandy-- if you have a knucklehead, and you throw millions of dollars at him, what do you think he's going to do??

And of course, if Jerry did draft Jenkins, and he did get suspended for drugs, supercowboy8 would be one of the first calling Jerry an idiot for drafting such a risk...
