McShay mock 4/5/22

Raimann's arm length is around the same length as Martin's, Williams and Collins. All 3 here played guard until they kicked out Collins to RT.
Obviously arm length isn't the end all, as Slater has 33" arms and is a stud LT-but more polished coming out of the draft.

Just curious on how the Cowboys view him/how much stock they put into measurables.

Josh Ball, for example, has 35" arms.

I'm thinking Greg Ellis when I read George Karlaftis's profile. Great locker room, hard-working player who may never be elite but a damn good starter who consistently gets you 10-12 sacks a year.

At 24 I’d take that every time.

Problem with Ellis was that he was taken #8 overall with Randy Moss on the board.

Yep, that and whining all the time but he was a good player. Remember a beat writer once asking Parcell about replacing him and Parcell shot back "where I'm getting my 9-10 sacks from". He ain't going nowhere......lol

Based on what? He was the 8th selected DE. Don't start revising history on me.
He just tied the sack record.
Everyone who knows talent knew Watt was going to kill it in the NFL. My player analysis is usually more correct than so called experts.

I would love this draft. I just don’t see the Cowboys passing on Green/Zion though. I would actually love a Green/Rainman pairing.:omg:

Yeah I don’t see how this draft could be considered bad. Not the biggest fan of Karlaftis, but hes by no means a bad pick. Raimann in the 2nd is great value

Like Karl in rd 1, but Rainmann is a real developmental Tackle who is already 25. I know the Cowboys like him, but let's hope some other team drafts him.

A guy who consistently gets you 10-12 sacks a year is the very definition of elite.

I think Karlaftis is more of a consistent 8 sack a year guy.

I'm not talking 2020 hindsight as far as experts

Meh. IMO Karlaftis projects as a LDE in the Law mold minus the run stopping traits.

Just don’t see the athletic traits of a true RDE there. Love his work ethic and he seems like a solid player— but no matter how many 3 star pass rushers you add yo the roster— we still lack the impact a true 4 or 5 star rusher would bring us.

Would rather see us address OL and fix the running game as I think w/o it— Dak has zero chance to be effective.

I think he will fall to the second round. There seems to be very little buzz about him unlike some of the other edge rushers.

Same here. I don't like that he has his best football ahead of him but a lot to learn when already in his mid 20s
