In this one he covers scenarios. Here's the Cowboys, click the link for the rest.

18) Dallas Cowboys

Kenny Vaccaro
COLLEGE: Texas
AGE: 21
HT: 6-0
WT: 214
POS: S

Scenario 1: Vaccaro is falling in this scenario, and safety is a top need for the Cowboys. Vaccaro has the skill set to step in as a starter for a defense that's searching for a do-it-all player on the back end.

Scenario 2: Should Dallas look for help along the defensive front as it transitions to Monte Kiffin's Tampa 2 system, North Carolina DT Sylvester Williams would be the top option as things stand in this projection.

Scenario 3: Teams can never have enough good pass-rushers, so perhaps the Cowboys could snatch up Mingo if he should fall, or consider DE Bjoern Werner.

Stats and Info: There was a lot of room for improvement on the Dallas defensive line last season. The Cowboys ranked in the bottom three in sacks, tackles for loss and batted passes in 2012. Furthermore, the D-line contacted opposing ball carriers in the backfield on just 12 percent of rushing plays, the second-lowest percentage in the league.

this. We really struggled getting after the qb last year even when we had ware and spencer rushing in our 4 man line. He would also help keep ware and spencer fresh and save us money by either trading this year or letting spencer walk next year.

I rather use spencer money to sign dez and lee (if he can prove to stay healthy long enough).

I think Vaccaro may be gone before 18, even with someone potentially trading up for him. (Cincy) Tennessee has a lot of interest in him and want to form a youthful strong secondary. Buffalo had him for a visit, Rams are interested and may take him with the first pick if Tavon Austin is gone. Even Steelers are interested, I am thinking he will be gone.

I wouldn't really consider Vaccaro being available at #18 as "falling". IMO, the chance that he gets drafted before #18 is less than 50%.

I really hope Sly Williams or Werner aren't options for us at #18. There are at least 6 other realistic options I would rather have than those two.

Not every position is valued equally.

Dallas may have a need in a safety ~ but does the safety position have identical value to a Defensive lineman? Especially, if the defensive line is aging, injury-prone, or if there is a transition of defensive schemes - all of which is relevant in Dallas's case.

If the defensive line is unable to generate constant pass rush/pressure on the QB, how effective will be the so-called playmaker safety?

I understand not reaching for solely a position ~ but, there should be an adequate DL available (Richardson, Williams, Werner, Datone Jones, maybe even Star Lotulelei) at 18, assuming Cooper or Warmack are not available, that has an equivalent or even greater value than the safety, Vaccaro.

Now, some may say where is the DL gonna to start if he is drafted in the first round? Is Ratliff healthy enough to start? Spencer only has a 1-year deal. Hatcher is in the last year of his contract. Is Lissemore a starter? Can Ware remain healthy enough to be an every down defensive lineman throughout the season?

IMO, OL (including Fluker) or DL should be the pick in the first round.

I take Werner if he is there as well. Good value for 18.

if the top OL and DT are gone, and werner is there, he would be the best value no doubt, esp when we consider that spencer is unsigned and ware is getting older

I want the best OL/DL on the board at 18, but if a pass rusher starts to fall I would love Dallas to jump at him.

So name 6-8 other realisitc options that prefer at pick 18 over Williams and Werner. I would have a pretty good list too, but not so sure it would be more than 6.

I know that in your case it will include at least one or more shiney objects player. That's cool. As long as it's realistic, i would like to see your list.
