@BAT I'm not blown away by this game tape either. Its up and down to me. He is frequently the last one firing off on the snap and was getting washed out or completely blown off the line on several runs. On other plays he fires off the line and is quickly in the backfield and sheds blockers to fill a hole or make a tackle in the run game.

I've come full circle on OO but the hips still scare me. In his defense he was playing 3-4 DE. A ton of 5 technique and also lined up over the tackles inside shoulder. I think Marinelli could do a lot with this kid as SDE in 4-3 not fully covered up as he was in a 3-4.

Looked like a Chinese fire drill on every snap to me, Utah OL were dismal. And even then OO does not fire off the LOS consistently. He has talent, no doubt but would rather not take a run stopper with first pick. Unless he was a behemoth in the middle like Danny Shelton.

Maybe because he's not supposed to in that scheme? He played a ton 3-4 5 tech contain in college. Pretty obvious that rushing the passer was not his 1st assignment on most plays.

I don't want Harold on this team in this scheme. Not only is he a project, but a 3-4 OLB. Preston Smith has a 3rd rd grade for me.OO scares me with his hips and I have a mid 2nd rd grade on him, but may be the only Edge guy worth even mentioning at 27 and I really hate going in reaching for OO when I'm certain better talent by quite a bit will be on the board. Unless Bud Dupree falls, which is unlikely, I really dont see any Edge players for the Cowboys at their slotted pick. Maybe thats me being pessimistic though.

agree.the cowboys emphasize " quick twitch" ability last year and none of those guys will make to to 27 unless we trade up which i would hate.we reaaly should not spend a first rd pick on a strong side DE.

OO is probably my favourite DE in this draft. I'm liking Dt at 27 though, more than DE. I think the De's that will be available don't offer much more than Lawrence, whereas the DT's that will be available are a marked improvement over the current roster. Crawford would be more effective splitting time, I feel. And the other DT is a huge ???

There are no questions from me regarding Perryman. This happens after every combine, tape doesn't lie. I also think that Dupree and Odighi end up with 1st round grades.

Who are these quality DE's you see available past 27? I like Pres Smith but I'm not even sure he's a pure DE in our system. After him maybe chickillo but that's about all I see...

DT on the other hand....Bennett, Cooper, Jarrett, Hardison, Wright, Philon. I think all are great scheme fits as part time pass rushers in our system and can all be had at some point past 27

Or, probably more likely, trade down.

I think this will end up being an ideal year for the Cowboys to trade down. Dupree probably goes early, the others are second rounders and no one else will be available with a high enough grade to take if they decided to draft truly on BPA.

I agree. The thing I envision is Odighi being there. Do we pull the trigger....?

There's no correlation to your difficulties in trading down in our mock to what the Cowboys experience in the actual draft.

If Brett Hundley impresses some team, the Cowboys pick could be a place where someone looks to trade into to select him.

Yes, he has the physical ability to do it. Getting him out of that 3-4 and into Marinelli's scheme with Marinelli teaching him, I think he will be really good. I think he has weak-side DE athleticism.

I like him, but the hip makes me slightly nervous. If they could trade down a bit and still get him I would feel much more comfortable.

I love Owa but I'm a little partial to my Bruins.

I'm not so partial to gutty little Bruins and I would be very happy with Double O to the Cowboys. I'd like him even more in a slight trade down.

What did you think of Josh Shaw's combine performance??

I think we are all coming to the consensus that a trade back and pick up another 3rd - 4th rounder would seem at this stage to be ideal. Of course this is all very fluid at this stage. Agree that where we are slated to pick (27) it might be tough - if, we can not find any partners and we are stuck at our spot I trust our scouts, McClay etc. to do their due diligence on the 2nd tier DE's. If we cannot get off our spot O.O.(DE) or Brown (DT) might be our best options ? Will be fun to see what we all guess at now, 2 months away, and how it is perceived at the actual draft when we are getting on the clock and who is left : )

Danielle Hunter is a freakish specimen. I wouldn't mind the team grabbing him at 27 if they think Marinelli can unlock that potential.

Gutty little BruWINS, 3 going on 4 now BTW. Josh Shaw, good numbers 4.4. You would think there was a kid drowning somewhere to get him to run that fast.
