Harris is too light. We do not need another light weight speed pass rusher. One that gets knocked off his path to the QB, or takes the long route trying to use his speed because he can't bull rush. Only to have one of those....almost got there...moments....we already have had way too many of them.

do we? If you don't count guys like Gregory and Tapper who combined played 2 games, we really don't have a pass rusher that fails in that way. we have pass rushers that fail in any number of other ways, just not one that fails in that way.

But they still fail.

Vic Beasley was the exact same size as Harris. I mean exact. 6'3 235 ish. Beasley has added 10 pounds in the league and had 15.5 sacks this year. Weird thing is he plays the 5 technique now, but was drafted as a rush end. But you cant argue with the production.

yea, we should avoid any prospect that will fail, but avoiding him because we have too many speed rushers makes no sense.

Just my preference, but if they draft him I won't whine for 6 months....maybe just only a few minutes........then I will hope he turns out great.....so no reason to be a smart arse.....I can have an opinion right without being treated as if I made a stupid post....

And where was he last night? In the 2nd half and OT.
But I would take 15.5 sacks in a second. however, it is just my opinion that he is too light. But if he is drafted by us, then I will pull for his success.

Beasley has one move. Speed around the edge, which is why they moved him to the 5T probably. And he had a tough matchup against Marcus Cannon, one of the best RT n the game. Harris can spin inside and out, bull rush and has an inside counter. If Harris can put on 10-15 pounds and get to the 245-250 range and still have his speed, then you have something.

Why do y'all think Harris is 235?

Vic Beasley is listed by the NFL and ESPN as an OLB. He was listed in the Super Bowl starting lineups as WLB.

They can list him and call him what ever they want. ATL runs a 4-3 under mostly and I never once saw Beasley drop in coverage. He played 5 technique DE every game I watched.

I reviewed some 2016 games.

He did play primarily as a DE, but it was normally more of 7-tech than 5-tech; although, he lined up in various places from 9-tech, 7-tech, 5-tech and DT. He didn't drop in coverage much, but they would do odd things like line him up at DT then drop him in coverage. He was in a heavy rotation and he was often not on the field. They also used #91 (Upshaw) and #94 (Tyron Jackson 6-4, 296) at LDE. The oddest thing is that he was often out of the lineup on 3rd and long with #91 or #94 at LDE.

They played a lot of wide splits with their DEs, occasionally in a wide-9 look and other times with a 7-9 look.

It's an interest defensive scheme. Their HC is the same guy that used the 320+ Red Bryant as the starting LDE for Seattle.

In the SB Beasley lined up a lot on Cannon from that wide 9 look. And it wasn't working. Denver does that alot with Von. They would play Ware at the quick end and have Von line up on the other side
