Me brothers, me mates. Who in the FO believed in and kept Rush on the roster?

It is looking as if Rush had a powerful benefactor in the FO.

Me, I would have given Rush the boot every day he showed up. But Rush has won me over now.

Me questions:
1. Who saw this kind of talent in Rush?
2. Or was Rush, before Dak went out, just a JAG who played for cheap which suited Stephen just fine?

Well, all the backups were put on waivers. Who wanted to keep Rush? My guess is McCarthy. He's seen a lot of good backup QBs turn into valuable players and starters in his coaching career

I thinking Cooper Rush trained with Brady in the off-season and the FO heard this and got excited. They decidedly kept him on the roster.

We didn't actually keep him on the roster. We cut him and signed him to the practice squad. So not sure anyone in the front office really believed in Rush.

Look. Some force kept him here.
Rush used to be awful. Like DiNucci.

Rush keeps surviving. Who is the real puppet master?

Technically accurate, but it was a given he would be on the main roster week 1.

Wouldn't have been, though, if anyone had thought he was any good. We wouldn't have cut him, but we did despite him winning his only start last year because he just wasn't that great in the preseason. If anyone saw this coming, they did a very good job of not acting like it.

Was it the same force that let him go a few years ago? We brought him back because Dalton left and our backup options that year were looking very shaky. Even the year that we brought him back, we put him on the PS. I imagine that if DiNucci had looked any good at all that Rush might not even be here.

Same people who cut him. Left him exposed for any other team to sign him......that's how much they liked him.

And weren't you one of the ones complaining about poor back up QB and that we should go after someone and upgrade the position?

Yes!
I was Rushed biggest critic!
And I still believe we need to upgrade.

Outside a brief stint in NY he has been on the cowboys since 2017, someone believed in him enough that he is still with the team. I know no one here felt any different.

Grier looked the best to me in preseason. I’m not convinced he isn’t doing the same thing out there right now. There is a reason they like Cooper though. Maybe he knows the offense the best.

I will admit that i was wrong. I thought that Grier should have been QB2.

Rush has far exceeded my expectations.

so three games and now he is a talent that somebody who cut him saw!!!! and you want to know who? he was an after thought....
I know one thing he would not clear waivers again. Rush as so many in the media has pointed out has done a lot to increase his value, regardless if it is Dallas or somewhere else he has made a lot of money for himself with how he has played
