Report: Mediation sessions for next week cancelled

6/2/2011 2:56:27 PM

Daniel Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal reports the Minnesota Federal Court has cancelled mediation set for next week between the NFL owners and players saying it is engaged in confidential settlement talks with the parties.

This can only be taken as a sign that the two sides are interested in a settlement before the 8th Circuit Court issues a decision on the lockout.

Isn't that ruling due to come down tomorrow?

If so, doesn't that mean that they need to get a deal done before then?

The hearing is due, but the decision won't be handed down immediately from what I understand.

:crossed: <-- ...that both parties can return to where they should have never left in the first place.

Yeah, I agree. Following Albert Breer on Twitter, it sounds like we have some real legitimate good news for a change, but still a long ways to go.

Hearing tomorrow, no idea on when ruling is coming.

Folks, I think it may be over.
Man, I hope so. I am so ready for Ryan to be able to start implementing his system.

Oh, OK.

Well I guess so long as no unforeseen animosity arises during the hearing, they'll hopefully get a deal ironed out.

(fingers crossed)

Huh, you dont like rob ryan Hos? I can understand not liking buddy ryan, but I like rob ryan, always thought he was a good defensive coordinator, working with what he had on teams like oakland and browns.

I like rob ryan's fire and intensity, desire.

outside of the hard to ignore fact that he sprang from the loins of Buddy Ryan, what have you got against OUR Ryan, Hoss?

That pretty much covers it for the dislike.

All joking aside, I am not all that impressed with the jobs he did at Oakland and Cleveland and I had a pet cat candidate so I am pouting.

If he does the job we want then I will have no issue with him at all. I just probably won't really ever be a real fan due to that spawn of Buddy stuff.
