Medical red shirt draft pick?

Given our abundance of picks this year, I'd be surprised if Jerry doesn't sign some guy who has gotten injured to the point of likely going PUP all year, to sit on the value til next year.

You may hate it, but Jerry (smartly, I think) see's injured players as an opportunity to get a lot of extra value out of a pick. Being willing to wait a year or two for that value to play out is one thing that sets Jerry apart from the rest of the league.

Have we brought in any of these guys for interviews? Any rumors tying any of them to us?

Considering the # of picks we have, I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to taking a guy later in the draft that falls into that category.

I was surprised we didn’t use a late round pick on Leary (despite the knee condition) a few years back, considering how much we liked him. Turned out we got him as UDFA anyhow. Speaking of which, I’ll be interested to see if we find any potential gems in the UDFA pool this year as well.

I would too if the young man lasts that long. There is a real chance though that the young man has a real health risk and could die on the field. I don't know if
he gets the okay to play again or not. Sad, the young man has loads of talent.

Yeah, Jerry runs this franchise as a guy who is completely unaccountable for the results. They can go 5-11 three straight yearsand he’s still in charge. No other GM (other than Mike Brown in Cincy) has the “luxury” of not needing to win to keep his job.

That’s the point - we could take a shot on a player who physically won’t be ready this year without having to use a roster spot on him.

Off the top of seems Calloway is a character concern that fits that mold.......Hurst is scaring people for some reason even though last i heard he was cleared. Shaq has one hand......id take all three at this point.
