Meet the Cowboys new massive offensive line

Agreed. Common sense. Something this ownership and coaching staff hopefully finds.

I remember when people were upset in the 90s when Larry Allen was moved from his 2nd-4th year, 3 straight Pro Bowls pick, Right Guard position to various other positions over his career...

Larry Allen's position with the Dallas Cowboys evolved throughout his 12 seasons. He started as a right tackle in 1994, then moved to right guard from 1995-1997. He played left tackle from 1998-99 and left guard from 1999-2003. He then moved back to tackle and played his final seasons at left guard.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1994: Right Tackle
1995-1997: Right Guard
1998: Left Tackle
1999-2003: Left Guard
2004-2005: Left Tackle
2006: Left Guard

The change of positions did not stop Larry Allen from earning 11 Pro Bowl nominations at 3 different positions throughout his 14 year career. That's because Larry Allen was short (6'3") with shorter arms while playing Right Tackle (rookie year) and Left Tackle (5th year: Pro Bowl nomination).

Tyler Smith is much taller (6'6") and has much longer arms than Larry Allen had. Plus, Tyler Smith played Left Tackle in college, so what is the problem with moving him back to LT in order to plug rookie Tyler Booker at one of the Guard positions and yield our best front 5 to start across our Oline?
His last few seasons LA did not have the movement to really be all that.
Bottom line that you refused to face is that he was ALWAYS A BETTER GUARD THAN A TACKLE.
There was a reason he was a guard more than the other positions.
OF his SIX ALL PRO SEAONS FIVE OF THEM WERE AT GUARD

Yes, because of his lack of height (6'3") to be a legit Tackle. If Larry Allen had been 2-3 inches taller, he would have more than likely remained a Tackle.

Exactly and I am sure the Running game Guru / New Head Coach is aware of this

Time will tell if the New Coach will be handed the Reigns

And where is Mike McCarthy now? Fired and watching from home while rattling his mouth on social media.
That has nothing to do with our disagreement. Mike's contract expired, he wasn't fired. They just couldn't agree on the next contract. Jerry made him an offer to stay.

Only if Guyton and Steele up their game considerably. If they don't, the OT spots will have to be reworked.
I was hoping for Banks at LT and sliding Guyton to RT to compete with Steele and Hoffman at LG

Booker's a mauler, so I'll take him at RG and figure out what to do with RT

Agree. I believe the ship is getting righted. Back on course. The pick last night was actually encouraging.
Considering what Zack Martin trotted out last year it's a pretty low bar. He was far from his Pro-Bowl self. How far? He decided to retire.

We don't know what our new rookie will be like, but could it be any worse than what happened with Martin in 2024?

Let's open up the RG position and have everyone compete.

Going to nice to see a lot of these negative comments eat their words at the end of the year.
