Meet Tyler Smith's college OLine coach

My concern isn't the coach from where Smith came from, it's where he's going.

Philbin seems out of touch and last year was not a great example of quality coaching into the postseason. Not only were they manhandled but penalty machines. I can't figure out how the same staff is going to polish up raw talent.

That’s a concern of mine also. I’ve been pounding the table for a new OL Coach since the SF game.

But I’m just a bacon-chomping PJGer—a misinformed Care Bear who doesn’t care about winning, because I don’t spend my days screaming ‘Booger is Hitler’…

Ya don't say:clap:2 kids I know say he's the most talented player they've lined up against

Manhandled being the key word, Biadaz and Williams were WEAK links literally. They were constantly pushed backwards you can't coach up physical inablities. Williams was here four years and never really showed signs of increasing strength.

It's no wonder this kid didn't get quality coaching......

The current OL coach was just hired Jan. 2022 but read his profile to see if you recognize a familiar name (lol)

Don't know anything about his College Coaches but as he went to a small school figured they were not the greatest.

I liked Columbo

What’s more likely?

A)2022 will be a good year. The Cowboys actually win a playoff game.
B)Shannon Sharpe endorses the Tyler Smith pick.

Tuned in for about 17 seconds (no exaggeration) just to prove my theory. Both choices are low, but “A” seems more likely. Horseface and Skippy are SO predictable.

I actually think we'll be about where we were last season, depending on the offense. And I'm pointing at the entire offense, QB, RBs, O line and WRs/TEs. They all were elite the first half and then it all changed the 2nd.

With a better defense! But…2021 wasn’t abnormally bad for injuries, so…

Plus, our NFCE rivals will likely be better.

Stop saying he didn’t get quality coaching. He was a TWO-star that got zero offers from any Texas school out of HS and finished as a first round pick 3 years later as one of the best run blockers in the country.

He didn’t do that all on his own. He developed a lot in college and now needs to take the next step in the pros for pass pro

Good point

Here is what Pete Prisco of CBS Sports says about the pick. He says RT but I think Dallas starts him at LG.

24. Cowboys: Tyler Smith, OT, Tulsa
Grade: A

This is one of my favorite picks in this draft. This kid is a mauler who will help them at right tackle right away. He needs a little help in pass protection, but the Cowboys will coach him up. Teams loved him more than analysts and his tape showed you why. This is a really good pick.

Maybe they'll be better, but the QBs are all a rather large question mark so I'm not TOO worried. I do think ours takes a significant step forward.

Yeah, another offseason between the injury and meaningful games.
