Meeting Expectations

Just curious to know if this team has met your expectations for this point in the season . Without the homer or realist spin , did you think they would be in contention for the division with two games to go ? I didn't . I thought we would have some good things to build on for next year , but I really expected to be in third place in the division . What did you expect ?

i figured 8-8 but im also more excited for the offseason to see who goes and who comes in. The draft is always important but i want to see how Free Agency goes this year.

More players to replace, a practice squad to look over and some coaches to shake hands with and give a good recommendation for.

I don't think we have dominated for a long time. We are learning to win again. So I guess we are about where I thought we would be.

They certainly have met my expectations. Like most I thought we'd go 8-8 and have some improvement to build on. While there is a ton of stuff that still needs to be corrected I am happy with where we are right now.

all things considered, this is basically the same secondary that was putrid last season. We only added Elam. This is also only the first year (without an off season) for Ryans defense. So I'd say the defense is right on par for where I expected them to be.

I have very high expectations for the offense but Tony was coming off a season ending injury, Dez is young and learning and we went young on the offensive line so I believe thats tempered their potential somewhat.

I will say I am please with Romo, we found players in Fiammeta, Robinson and Murray and Tyron Smith has been everything he was billed to be.

In terms of position, we're about where I thought we'd be. However, we have not played as well as I expected... We've had a lot of help from the Bad Dream Team and the Eli-Coaster that I wasn't counting on.

Yes they have. I thought Philly would fail to live up to expectations and the Cowboys would overseed expectations and they would win the division and they're in good position to do so.

I thought that consensus was more in the 11-5 ... 10-6 range. What happened to that prediction thread?

The offense has exceeded my expectations and will only get better. Our D is much, much worse than I expected...I guess that evens out to what was expected. I also was predicting 8-8.

My prediction of 9-7 still has a good chance of coming to pass.

No, I didn't think we'd be competing for a division title, but that was mainly off the assumption the Eagles and Giants would be much better than what they've shown.

Before Jerry's fumbling of free agency I expected a much better team. After FA my expectations lowered greatly and they are playing about how I thought they would. The Giants and Eagals have really underachieved this year, which works out nicely for us, at least we have some meaningful games at the end of the season. The crash of reality will be tough though.

I expected Wade's team to succeed........and I expected JG team to succeed...

Im willing to give JG time to succeed....but so far this season....I call it a disappointment....we wasted too many games.....we still get penalized alot....were unprepared....and we fail to execute.....

I wanna see some fight in this team......we need to beat the Eagles and Giants.

I thought this was a 9-7 team that would fall just short of a playoff birth. The NFC East winner nearly always has 11+ wins, so it's a pleasant surprise that we're in the position we're in at 8-6.

Our defense is currently 13th in points allowed compared to 31st last year. How could you honestly expect a defense that was awful last year to be better than 13th?

I expected almost what we got: 10-6, an outside shot at the division and a wildcard berth. We've looked more vulnerable along the way than I'd expected, though, and I'm not seeing the team get significantly better as the season goes on, which is disconcerting. The offense is--because everyone's healthy. The two-minute defense has been really disappointing.

No, they've been playing like a bunch of ******* . This team should have only a couple of losses with the maximum being 3. When our defense is on, our offense can't move the ball or score. When our offense is doing good, our defense looks like ****. If we had the opportunity to play the Tampa's every week, we'd be Super Bowl bound.

Just a disappointing year so far.

That was the consensus. I wasn't part of that however lol.
