Mel's got the odds, Todd's got the evens. So Todd makes all the Cowboys picks.

26. Dallas Cowboys
McShay's pick: Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU

Yeah, you said it, Mel. This feels a little early for Johnston, but I played myself here a little bit by taking Michael Mayer -- who would have been a perfect fit in Dallas -- off the board two picks ago. Regardless, there's no denying that the Cowboys need pass-catchers, and Johnston could be the true No. 2 behind CeeDee Lamb. Johnston has a big catch radius and can make plays downfield.

27. Buffalo Bills
Kiper's pick: Trenton Simpson, ILB, Clemson

28. Cincinnati Bengals

McShay's pick: Riley Moss, CB, Iowa

57. New York Giants
Kiper's pick: John Michael Schmitz, C, Minnesota

58. Dallas Cowboys
McShay's pick: Sam LaPorta, TE, Iowa

A tight end this good, this late? It makes me feel better about the Cowboys missing out at the position in Round 1. LaPorta could give Dak Prescott and the Dallas offense an immediate answer to losing Dalton Schultz in free agency.

59. Buffalo Bills
Kiper's pick: Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina

60. Cincinnati Bengals
McShay's pick: Matthew Bergeron, OT/G, Syracuse

89. New York Giants
Kiper's pick: Nathaniel Dell, WR, Houston

90. Dallas Cowboys
McShay's pick: Kendre Miller, RB, TCU

Dallas moved on from Ezekiel Elliott, so it is a prime candidate to add a running back on Day 2 to pair with Tony Pollard in the backfield. And Miller has some impressive agility; his tape is filled with elusive jump cuts.

91. Buffalo Bills
Kiper's pick: Antonio Johnson, S, Texas A&M

92. Cincinnati Bengals
McShay's pick: Ji'Ayir Brown, S, Penn State

93. Carolina Panthers (from SF)

I like rounds 2 and 3. I think Miller is a sleeper. With that said...and being a TCU guy who watched every game....Quintin scares me. He is a stud. He's big and fast and can catch. My fear is that he does have a tendency to disappear. He had 4 massive games including 14 catches vs KU...but he also had ALOT of non factor games...2 for 22 vs Col, 3 for 22 vs Tarleton, 3 for 29 SMU, etc. For his size he only had 6 Tds. He can be a stud in the right system with the right coaching...not sure it happens here.

I need to add Quentin Johnson to my dont draft club.He sucks at catching and his testing at his own pro day was poor.say no to the body catcher.
I’m not advocating for drafting Johnston…but were his testing #’s really poor?

3 cone would be the only complaint, everything else is very good/great. Not hard to make an argument that he’s comparable to DK Metcalf with a few less pounds.

this RAS thing looks bogus.3 cone is very important for WRs and his was 7.31 which is worse than almost all the TEs in the draft.

I hate the first pick but wouldn’t mind the other two.
If we can deal backward into the top third of the second, we should still have several options for a starting TE or LG.

They actually do pretty well in later rounds and I wouldn’t mind having extra picks for a kicker and/or developmental QB and still end up with a starting player as the top pick.

Am I the only one not impressed by LaPorta? I feel he adds nothing over Ferguson and Hendershot and he stinks at blocking.

I also feel these guys do absolutely zero research in regards to Dallas. “Draft Johnston! They need a #2!” But they have Cooks, Gallup and a 3rd rounder from last year with Jalen Tolbert.

“They did nothing to replace Dalton Schultz!” Meanwhile they drafted Jake Ferguson last season and he flashed when given playing time.

You think LaPorta isn't any better than Ferguson or Hendershot and they're the ones who do no research?

It is a good thing that Kiper and McShay aren’t really going to draft for Dallas.

There were plenty of guys still on the board that I’d rather have than Johnston.

So many of the targets were taken in this mock though… hopefully it won’t fall like this.

I’m saying he’s not the guy I’m drafting in round 2 to overtake them. Strictly a receiving TE at this point that needs to improve in his blocking.
