Just some random thoughts about some of the drafts.

-If the Invitational was about attempting to put together the most realistic mock that you think a team will have, the Giants and @Plankton would win. They will be in desperate need of a corner if (when?) Amukamara leaves. With this draft being so DL heavy, I could definitely see them adding two DTs with their first 4 picks.

-If the Eagles were to draft Paxton Lynch, I would really feel bad for him. I think he'd be thrown into the fire, and those fans are vicious.

-I really thought @robert70x7 would take Shawn Oakman at 93. If he could even be 75% of the player Calais Campbell became; man, that would be a scary pair of 5 techs.

-I thought most of the drafts were above average. Only a few below-average drafts this year. Great job, everyone.

-Here are several drafts that I wanted to comment on:

@McLovin (Chicago Bears) got some real quality players. I see two immediate impact players with some rotational and backup quality guys. Guys that I think will be worthy of a 53 man roster.

@Risen Star Improving the quality of the middle of the OL and DL in the first two rounds is where the Commanders really should start. I am a fan of Harlan Miller. He had a great week at the Senior Bowl and proved he could play with the big boys.

@Oh_Canada Solid draft. Not particularly flashy, but several quality prospects. Going OT in the first was smart. I like Sua Cravens. I just think he's one of those guys you want on your football team. Another (flashier) option would have been to pull a blockbuster trade for Goff. The Rams have a solid roster, but need a QB in the worst way.

@tm1119 Wins in the "Least Likely to Actually Happen" category. Kelly would never draft 3 defensive players with his first 3 picks. 49ers roster is a mess and has more holes than you could possibly hope to fill in one draft. Kudos to him for recognizing that and trading back in the later rounds to try to get some more guys. Howard was great value in the 4th. (You're welcome for the pick.) ;)

@tyke1doe Had a solid draft all around. Despite picking in a playoff spot, he got what was considered the best DT (on the field) in the draft just a couple short months ago. And this is a deep DL draft. If Martin is half the player his brother is, that's a big win of a pick. Will Redmond could flourish in Seattle's defense.

@MichaelWinicki Got what I thought was one of the biggest steals of the draft in Kentrell Brothers. I had him as my #3 ILB behind Jaylon Smith and Reggie Ragland. Shocked he fell that far and I think he could take a starting job in his first year.

Collectively, we put together a very "Patriot-esque" draft for the Patriots. Three solid players who could be contributors in their first season. Makes me sick.

@MikeT22 Hell of a draft. Myles Jack, Kenny Clark, Devontae Booker, and Shawn Oakman. I could see all four of those guys still playing in the NFL 8 years from now. Great job. Minus Shawn Oakman due to scheme, I'd be pleased as pie if that was the Cowboys draft this year.

@texbumthelife I think Joey Bosa fits Baltimore, and that was the best value on the board when he was picked. Doctson could provide some help for the offense, but Baltimore's M.O. has always been their defense. Three quality defensive prospects.

@Avery All sarcasm aside, this was a very good draft IMO. Nassib and Ngakoue could turn out to be very good players. Thomas is one of the bigger "boom-or-bust" players in the draft. Huge ceiling.

@Alexander Great draft by the Colts. Elliott could really take some of the pressure off of Luck. They would be a formidable backfield. Speaking of taking pressure off of Luck, Whitehair was a solid pick. I see him as a fairly safe pick as well. The type of guy that may not ever be a Pro Bowler, but an above average, dependable starter. Very nice job.

@DBOY3141 I liked this draft. Get Mariota some protection and a couple weapons; one of which whom he's very familiar with in Bralon Addison, who is a great deep threat that the Titans could really use. Well done.

I'd love to hear the other participants' ideas, opinions, observations, etc on the drafts, including my own if you'd like. :)

I actually was prepared to move up for Goff, but got bogged down in work stuff early in the morning. The nerve!
Went with Prescott as my fall back. I think he can develop into an NFL starter and if not he only cost a late third anyhow.
Thanks for the good comments, it was fun as usual.

The Rams moving up for Goff just makes too much sense. It'll be interesting to see what they do on draft day.

This yearly event is pretty cool. But it is still held about 3 weeks too early. Lots more info comes out that would alter it greatly.
