Dallas Cowboys
Round 1 (4): Jalen Ramsey, DB, Florida State

Round 2 (34): Ezekiel Elliott RB Ohio State

Round 3 (67): D.J. White, CB, Georgia Tech

Analysis: The debate for me here is between Ramsey and Joey Bosa, and with both guys at what I consider need positions, it's a good time to trust the board. Ramsey is going to be special, and I love the addition of him and Byron Jones over a two-year stretch. Regarding Elliott, it's much better to take a running back at No. 34 than at No. 4. In Round 3, I get a needed addition to the secondary. White has a chance to compete for a starting role in nickel packages early on.

I think you need to find another guy to idolize...old mel is losing it.

Personally I wish Joel Buchsbaum was still around.

Elliot dropping to 34 would make this a grade A draft without Dallas doing a single thing. Make it happen Mel!

While I would hope the board fell differently, we could certainly justify addressing the secondary twice in the first few rounds if BPA called for it.

Your Brandt response is spot on. The other day on Sirius he said the Rams should take Goff over Wentz because he is a California kid and can get around in traffic better in order to get to the stadium and know where to buy a house because he knows the area. Really Gil??

I heard that too and the other discussants started saying "that is a really good point" and discussed it seriously for a few minutes lol

The more I think about this the more I realize Mel's brilliance.

You guys were burning the 4th overall pick to get Zeke. Mel stole him in the 2nd round.

Maybe that's why he does the draft coverage and you watch it.

When it comes to addressing the secondary I say to hell with BPA.

Ya know what I mean, bro? You want to exchange texts during the draft? DM me your number.

Kiper doesn't believe in taking a RB in the 1st round anymore. So even though he knows Elliott won't be there he still mocks him at 34 here. This isn't meant to be a prediction of picks but what would earn an A grade from him.

Having said that, it's stupid.

so how many A grades have turned teams around in the 3-5 years after the grade?

Fixed it. That's the only Elliott not going in the top half of the first round.

Is it really so crazy to draw a line in the sand and say RBs just aren't worth 1st round picks anymore? I get that it's not for everyone, but I certainly wouldn't blame a franchise for making that call.

Mel's not suggesting Elliot won't go in the first, just that to him, drafting a RB in the first won't get an "A" grade.

I'd wait until the third round to get Elliott. Wasting a pick taking him that high.
