This defense sucks

we have plenty of holes..why not get the most versatile defensive player in the country? thoughts?

Courtney Upshaw. Might have to trade up a little to get him tho.

do you think he can play OLB at his weight?

Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina
Height: 6-4. Weight: 276.
Projected 40 Time: 4.75.

40 Time: 4.82 40 Low:4.72 40 High: 4.94

to slow IMO

I'm not worried about those projections, he will test out better and his shuttle and cone drill numbers will be off the charts for a guy his size

He will play around 265 which is on par with Ware or most OLB's in a 3-4

+1 Give me the guy that ALREADY PLAYS OLB in a 3-4 (and plays it very well to boot) versus the guy that has to transition from playing DE to OLB. Upshaw is a Lamar Woodley clone in every way. Just give me any of the top tier guys off of 'Bama's D (Upshaw, Kirpatrick, Hightower, Barron, Chapman).

I just want a consistant playmaker opposite of D-Ware!!!!

yea but he seems so slows to me also

but if you put him on the other side of Ware

a good run stopper

If there is one thing I absolutely cannot stand in regards to evaluating a prospect, it is a 40 yard dash time. When a OLB/DE prospect has to run 40 yards, in a straight line, with some Under Armour tights on, then it may mean something.

LaMarr Woodley - 4.75
Tamba Hali - 4.87
Terrell Suggs - 4.84
James Harrison - 4.85

You get the idea.

I like Ingram but I like Jarvis Jones, Georgia too... This guy lead the SEC in sacks!

I like Jarvis Jones over Ingram too.

I'm waiting till the senior bowl and combine, that way I can see them more. There is alot of DE/OLBs in this draft that could be a 3-4 OLB.

no its the shuttle drill you should look at
remember when Dallas drafted Ware, Parcelles said he was sold after he saw him run the shuttle and saw how he could flip his hips and control his balance

He looks pretty fast to me:

Played RB in high school, can drop back into coverage and has excellent hands.

Side note: The speed shown in the video above on the fake punt return is slowed down. You can see the real time video here.

I am really certain that OLB will be our first pick (over CB).
