from time time, i post these Memos in hopes the word may get to the said culprits. So here goes
1. Everytime our offense takes the field....can we stop running a heavy formation and running Zeke straight up the middle on 1st downs and then go to a shotgun single back on 2nd down? this has become such a broken record with the play calling this year. everybody and their mother knows what we are doing.
2. Redzone - Why not give Rico a shot there, he is in his 3rd year here, he would be a nightmare matchup for defenses. WE have sucked in the red zone the last few weeks. you have to try something different or just accept having to settle for a lot of field goals.
3. Tavon Austin - I would copycat alot of what the Bears do with Cohen and for that matter some of what the Chiefs do with Tyreek Hill, Austin has the speed and quickness to be that type of player for this offense. He should also become our punt returner as well.
4. I read where Cooper was getting frustrated having to run all these stop routes, and he told Dak breaking the huddle "this is ridiculous" because defenses are sitting there waiting for it, luckily Dak signaled Cooper to run the go and we scored on that big play.
5. It's my opinion that Dak throws his best when he throws quick slants, and I feel we don't throw enough of them. case in point that 3rd and 9 at about the Eagle 45 in over time when he hit Cooper for that first down. and furthermore Beasley is almost uncoverable when we run those type of quick throws.
This team has a legitimate shot of going far in the playoffs, but this offense has to become better down the stretch, I think the offensive staff needs to re-evaluate a few things.
