Saturday will be like a playoff game

This is absolutely the best part of the season. You're right, it's playoff time, and these next two weeks will have that flavor.

I love watching the team anytime, good or bad, contending or not. But this is what you truly want, meaningful games at seasons end.

I still laugh at how stupid Donovan McNabb looked doing that stupid dance while the Eagles were walking on the field. Even DeSean Jackson looked baffled :laugh2:

Not gonna lie, that video just got me all amped up for Sunday.

I would much rather see the Eagles have to play for something come game day. It will make their defeat all the more sweeter. I want the Cowboys to end the seasons of two teams at once.

Well, despite Wade's prognostication, we didn't go to Minnesota and win another one.

You're amped for the Chicago and Green Bay game on Sunday?

I just hope our home crowd fans get this message, they really need to be more vocal and give us a true home field advantage.

This isn't a true playoff game for us. It is more of a playoff game for the Eagles. IF we lose we still control our own destiny. Beat the Giants on the last game of the year and we are in.

Here are the NFL Network highlights from the game:

I think most would agree that the combination of Austin, Bryant, and Robinson at receiver is better than Austin, Williams, and Crayton. The primary back in that playoff game was Felix Jones, who will also be the primary back on Christmas Eve.

The offenses are at least comparable, and one could make strong argument that the 2011 version is better.

The defenses....that's a different story and the source of most Cowboys fans' consternation.

Wish the defense was playing as good as the it did the final month of the 09 season. That was the best the defense had looked during Wade's tenure as head coach.

I was at that game. I would say that was far and away the best Cowboys game I've attended in person. First playoff game ever in Cowboys Stadium.....the crowd was the loudest I have ever heard it in the new building....and absolutely stomping the Ea-girls in the playoffs? Unless I ever make it to a Super Bowl, this one will be hard to top. It was non-stop fun.

Also, I've never been more thankful that Jerry built a dome than that night. It was like 19 degrees out.

It's not what I truly want. I want endless debates about whether or not we should rest our starters in the last two games, since we've locked up the #1 seed already.

But I'll admit, this beats endless debates about whether we should tank the last two games for a better draft slot.

Then you and your amped-up self better check the schedule...

...we play on Saturday, not Sunday. :laugh2:

The starting ends in 2009 were Spears and Olshanky. I can't imagine they were playing any better than the current group of Coleman and Hatcher, who is having a fine season.

In my opinion, the major difference between then and now are thus:

1) Natural deterioration in the play of James and Newman. They're simply starting to show their age.

2) The inability of Anthony Spencer to match his phenomenal play at the end of 2009. This, more than other reason, is why the Cowboys aren't pressuring the quarterback as consistently as they were at the end of 2009.
