Orlando Scandrick told the $50 million CB to ove aside so he could save the game, read here.
After the timeout, Scandrick told Carr to switch _ that he’d take Garcon on the play. Scandrick read the formation and knew what was coming _ a short crossing route to Garcon, who earlier in the afternoon set a franchise record with his 107 reception of the season.
Scandrick wasn’t going to give him No. 108.
“I knew it was coming all the way,” Scandrick said. “That was the third time they ran that play this game. They ran it right before the half and got a first down. They ran it on another third down before that. But we were in a zone the first two times. This time it was man.”
Garcon broke and Scandrick broke with him _ getting his hand up to deflect the Kirk Cousins pass. That forced the Commanders to punt, then Romo drove the Cowboys 87 yards on nine plays over the final minutes for the winning touchdown.
That’s what friends are for.
