My point is that there is no owner/"gm" in the NFL other than Jerry that insists on making all football decisions, constantly meddles with the team and coaches, hires some the head coach's staff, often before the next hc is even named. There is also the constant interviews and radio shows that he does undermining his hc, who has very little power. That makes Dallas completely unique and unlike any of the other 31 teams.
Unique as they are, and thats true, that can't be used as an excuse for ineptitude and failure year after year. Its been nearly 3 decades of falling short. Drastic measures are needed.

Back in the late Eighties you managed to raise the $150M necessary to allow your purchase of the once-proud Dallas Cowboys franchise. It was shrewdest business move you’ve ever made, your business is now valued at over $9B.

You came into this opportunity with a vision of turning the franchise BACK into a winner. And in a relatively short time the Cowboys were back on top of the NFL world.

But you decided, at the height of your team’s success that YOU required more recognition as a ‘football man.’ It wasn’t enough for you to be socking away mountains of cash.

Cut to almost thirty years later and your team, despite it’s ridiculously huge cash valuation, hasn’t won SQUAT in the interim.

So, my question to you Mr. Jones is… do you REALLY want to win another championship before you pass into the great beyond?

If so, then try THIS for a change:

1) Turn over the GM duties to somebody who has a proven record of success in the last decade or two. Not some sycophant - and fight that nepotistic penchant! Allow that person to make the necessary decisions regarding peronnel and trades.

2) Hire a headcoach with a vision, somebody younger than sixty with a shelf-life, and a strong personality. And let that hire bring in HIS people. Allow the new coach the player’s locker room and sideline as HIS domain. Meanwhile, your throne is in the owner’s box - and ONLY in the owner’s box.

3) Avoid speculation to the press regarding the team’s season prospects and player evaluations.

4) Be prepared to shut up and write checks. Send your kids to Europe for the late-Summer and Fall months, extending their stays through early Winter if need be (depending on team success).

Jerry Jones, you’ve tried it your way for going on three decades. It hasn’t gotten you that championship you claim you desire. So, show us how sincere you are in THAT pursuit. Show is that you REALLY MEAN IT. That it’s not just PT Barnum hot air. Do it for the Dallas Cowboys, your team. Do it for Cowboys Nation - the loyal fans of your team. Do it for history.
Jerry would never give control to someone else. If he hired a GM and that GM put together a team that won a Superbowl, Jerry couldn't stand that someone else put that team together. Given the choice Jerry would rather the Cowboys be right where they are than someone else getting the credit.

Agreed but the only option on the table to change the post season results is either Jerry and son step down from all football decisions or the Jones sell the team and neither is happening so it's lather, rinse, repeat next season into perpetuity ...

Lol. All this time spent for nothing. I hope it made you feel better, at least. Maybe write a letter to the editor in Dallas if such a thing still exists? Go get a billboard put up in Frisco? Grab a sign and march around the gate where Jerry pulls in?

Jerry is riding this damn gravy Train until hes in the dirt taking that big dirt nap. Who we kiddin. He has no reason to do more than hes doing. He won't even be around much longer anyway. The guy we better be watching is Stephen Jones. He might be even worse than Jerry.

Hell no, because I have never set foot in his Stripper pole gaudy excuse for a stadium.

And I never will.

Last Jersey I bought was in 2002 {Roy Williams (safety)}

Last time I attended a Cowboys home game was Texas Stadium in 1995 against the Cards.
Same, last game I attended was the last game at the Texas stadium against the Ravens. I have not bought a Jersey is over a decade. My last one was a Witten Jersey.

We go through this crap every single off season. It's usually after a first-round playoff exit. Nothing's going to change. We have no hope.
Sad but true. Like watching a movie over and over again and thinking the ending will be different somehow. SMDH...

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Jerry does not give a squirrel turd what you or anyone else thinks ......... if Fans would start booing him out the building every time he or jr shows their face, hit him in his ego and pocketbook, then maybe something would change.

But it wont ........ Cowboy fans are as gutless as this team is in the playoffs.
Wait....how are cowboys fans any more gutless than other humans.

I suppose....maybe we could throw batteries and beer. Buy some paper bags.

Same ending every year. Sometimes I wish we hadn't have won Super Bowl 30 because maybe things would have been different.
