FORT WORTH -- The 47-year-old guitarist for the metal band Rigor Mortis died early Sunday after apparently suffering a seizure during a performance at The Rail Club in Fort Worth.

Michael Scaccia, 47, of Arlington was pronounced dead at 12:26 a.m. in the emergency room at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.

Police responded to a deceased person call at the club at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, according to records.

No cause of death was listed. But Blabbermouth.net which describes itself as "the CNN of heavy metal and hard rock news," said Scaccia asked for strobe lights to be turned off, then collapsed and suffered a seizure.

This guy looks familiar to me and I may have seen him around. At least, judging by the band's moniker, he died doing what he loved.

His name looked really familiar but the picture kinda made me look him up, he was a guitarist for Ministry.

I remember Rigor Mortis. They were pretty popular around the area in the 80s/90s. I saw them at Joe's Garage in Ft Worth.

R.I.P. Mike Scaccia

I was a pretty big Ministry fan in the 90's. Even got to see them a couple of times. He was a really good guitarist if you enjoyed that style. I'll never forget the seizure-inducing lights during their '92 Lollapalooza performance. Scott Ian of Anthrax even joined them onstage. They were a great industrial metal band. What a line-up that show had: Ministry, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Great stuff. Speaking of Soundgarden, check out their new album King Animal and catch them live if you can. It's a very good album that gets better with each listen. As far as seeing them live, just go do it! Saw them last month and will see them again in January in NYC. They never disappoint. Merry Christmas everyone!
